David Pearson started teaching math at DeLaSalle in 2000. He coaches the school’s cross country team and has also coached the track team. Mr. Pearson knows math can be dry and complicated, which is why he tries to use humor as a way of engaging students in problem solving. ““Laughter helps lighten the mood and sets them up for a better learning environment,” he says. Mr. Pearson has a Bachelor of Science degree in Math Education from Southwest State University in Marshall, MN. He taught math and science in Cameroon through the Peace Corps in the late 1990s and also taught math, science, PE, and wood shop at alternative schools in Shakopee and Chaska before coming to De.
