Position: Academic Dean
Start Date: July 2022

Purpose of Position: The position of Academic Dean assists the Principal and Assistant Principal with faculty and student support. The Academic Dean works collaboratively with other educators to integrate educational initiatives and resources that will sustain student success. This is a support role for the Assistant Principal that primarily focuses on ensuring students who are struggling have the support and resources they need. This position also offers support for faculty through observation, conversation, and sharing of the best resources.

Sample of Representative Responsibilities:
• Consult with parents, teachers, administrators, and other relevant individuals to enhance their work with students.
• Create a Faculty Teaching Schedule: assigning class sections, teaching staff, communicating with students and parents on scheduling changes.
• Assist in the planning and implementation of professional development programs designed to fulfill the professional growth needs of the faculty.
• Provide leadership in the identification, evaluation, and selection of successful instructional practices and the use of resources that will sustain and/or increase student engagement and achievement.
• Prepare, record, and report student grades; coordinate Progress Report notifications, and report cards, create honor roll lists for publication; compile Probation Lists and prepare notifications for parents/guardians.
• Conduct faculty observations paying particular attention to teacher-student relationships, classroom culture, and lesson design.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education; Master’s Degree in School Administration preferred
• Five years of experience in classroom teaching
• Experience with creating and implementing faculty teaching schedules
• Prior experience with student information systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

DeLaSalle is accepting applications for the position of Dean of Student Life.

Purpose of Position: The Dean of Student Life will provide leadership to encourage and support positive student behavior formation and promote positive school attendance, school safety, and violence prevention. In conjunction with the Administration, will assist in establishing a student learning environment where diversity is respected and where students learn to take responsibility for their actions and exercise positive social interaction.

A sample list of primary responsibilities includes:
• Responsible for learning and development of students outside of the classroom and encouraging student personal growth and development. Work closely with the Principal to ensure consistency in formation and discipline across the school.
• Serve as the primary formation and discipline authority for students. Intervene in occurrences of inappropriate behavior of students for the purpose of modifying behavior and developing successful interpersonal skills. Enforce student responsibility and accountability related to discipline issues in accordance with the Board approved student behavior code. Conduct discipline and suspension hearings in accordance with established school procedures.
• Monitor daily and section attendance information; Facilitate the compilation and recording of student attendance data with appropriate systems, communicating with families as necessary on student attendance matters. Plan, design, and conduct follow-through strategies to implement appropriate disciplinary measures regarding attendance, tardiness, and behavior policies. Assist students in developing strategies to address barriers to their consistent and timely attendance. Effectively analyze problems, issues, and concerns, and formulate appropriate alternative solutions.
• Provide positive and timely communication with students and parents regarding discipline concerns, social interactions, detention assignments, and classroom management, while maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Assist Islander Welcome Committee in preparing activities and responding to new students transitioning to DeLaSalle.
• Be available for chaperoning large school events outside of normal school hours.
• Provide direction to moderators of such events in assigning chaperones.

Qualifications
• BA degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of classroom or prior education administrative experience. Participation in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Efforts a plus.
• Direct experience working with and managing students in a diverse environment.
• Demonstrated track record of being responsive to students and families
• Have a full understanding of student information systems to manage student performance data.

Transportation, part-time (20-25 hours per week); starting rate of pay up to $21 an hour

To provide for the safe transportation of DeLaSalle students through the operation of school-owned vehicles and execute duties in compliance with all laws, regulations, and training. Compensation commensurate with experience and licensure.

Drivers work flexible hours from late August through the end of May. Weekday morning and afternoon shifts; activity transportation (afternoons and weekends), or a combination of the two are available. Bus operations include morning and afternoon routes and activity driving. Van operations include morning and afternoon routes.

License Requirements

  • Clean driving record
  • Department of Transportation physical (cost reimbursed by DeLaSalle)
  • Bus: CDL with school bus endorsement; some training available
  • Van: Standard driver’s license; short training session

DeLaSalle is accepting applications for a Smoothie and Coffee Bar Barista. Responsibilities include preparing the bar station and serving beverages before school (7:45am – 8:30am). Mid-morning tasks include cleaning and restocking the beverage station and assisting with the preparation of lunch items. The ideal candidate enjoys attention to detail and the energy of high school students. This is a part-time, seasonal position during the 2022-23 school year beginning mid-August 2022.
