TECHNOVATION PRESENTATION TOMORROW
Two teams of our girls’ Technovation Club will present the computer apps they designed and built tomorrow (Tuesday), 3:10pm, in the Thies Creative Lab, D207.
App #1: Law of Life – A social justice interactive game designed for teens and young adults that will teach players about rights in social situations based on age, gender, race, and location.
App #2: Eudia! – a mental wellness app for anyone wanting to be reflective and improve their wellbeing.
Each presentation will last about 10 minutes. Team members will be available afterward for questions and demonstrations of their apps. All are welcome!
ART DEPARTMENT TIE-DYE DURING WIN
Come tie-dye an Art Department T-shirt during WIN tomorrow! If you would like to participate, please fill out this form and Ms. Swords will ping you to the first or second WIN session tomorrow (Tuesday). The cost is $15 per Art Department T-shirt. Space will be limited so sign up fast!
In addition, if you would like a plain Art Department T-shirt, you can still purchase one without participating in the tie-dye process. Please see Ms. Swords, to purchase a shirt.
ATTENTION SENIORS: iPad Check-out Process
All seniors are required to go through the end-of-year iPad checkout process this Friday, May 13, even if they are purchasing their iPads. The end-of-year check out will take place in the following locations and times:
• Thursday, May 12, 2022 to the IT Office if an iPad is not needed for exams on Friday.
• Friday, May 13, 2022 during WIN/Lunches in the Creative Thies Lab.
• Friday, May 13, 2022 after school in the LL Gray Gym.
Please allow at least 20 minutes for the iPad return process.
Students Purchasing Their Devices
Students who are purchasing their device must bring their device to the checkout process and go through the required steps. Until this happens their device will not be taken out of the Mobile Device Management and still be under DeLaSalle’s control.  To purchase, please read the next announcement.
Students Not Purchasing Their Devices
Students who are not purchasing their device must turn in their school issued iPad with the school issued iPad case, power adapter, and power/sync cable. This form will need to be filled out at iPad Collection.
It is important to note that you will be charged the deductible/repair cost for broken devices as well as replacement cost for any missing items:
Damaged screen – $20
Damaged/non working power adapter- $20
Damaged/non working sync cable – $20
Missing keyboard or parts of case – $25
PURCHASE YOUR iPAD TODAY
This summer DeLaSalle will refresh the devices for its IslePad one-to-one program with the purchase of new iPads. As part of this transition, DeLaSalle is offering students the opportunity to purchase their current 6th Generation iPads for $125.00 now through May 25th. This purchase price includes the case and charger that is currently assigned to the student. Students should bring this iPad Payment Form and cash and/or check payments to the Business Office. Card payments will be made through Diamond Mind.
Devices that are not purchased will need to be returned on the last day of classes. Charges will be incurred for any damage to the device or charger.
SUMMER DRIVER EDUCATION CLASSES
The registration form for the two sessions being offered this summer is available from this link or in the Main Office. The June session will be online, the August session will be in-person.
DE-CHELLA FESTIVAL – MAY 13
Hello, Islanders! The Student Council would like to invite you to “DeChella” on Friday, May 13, 3:00pm – 6:00pm. There will be food trucks, games, and activities throughout the festival! There will also be a talent show, so grab some friends and sign up before Wednesday, May 11, to participate! Click this link to register.
SUMMER SERVICE OPPORTUNITY
Big Brothers, Big Sisters Twin Cities is now recruiting volunteers for its summer Free Arts program which offers children who have experienced poverty, homelessness, or abuse an emotional outlet through the creative arts. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and be able to commit to at least one hour per week for the ten summer weeks. For more information, contact Leah Moore at lmoore@bigstwincities.org.
