Congratulations to Students on the First Semester Honor Roll!

DeLaSalle High School is pleased to recognize the Honor Roll students for their academic success in the first semester of the 2021-22 school year. For their scholastic achievement, these students have earned a place on either the High Honors Roll (semester grade point average of 3.8 or better) or Honor Roll (semester grade point average of 3.0 to 3.8), with all grades of C or higher.  We also take time to congratulate all students for their hard work since August.

List of High Honor and Honor Roll Students, First Semester 2021-22

Of particular note, especially in a 22-month stretch of learning during an international pandemic, over 70 percent of our students have earned Honor Roll standing. What a terrific testimony to their dedication, intellectual curiosity, creativity, and resolve, as well as the support offered by their teachers and parents. We know that the vast majority of our students have been quite successful throughout their school years, but to have earned success and keep advancing as learners and as young women and men at this time in our history is worth celebrating.

One-Act Play Performances

In this year’s One Act Play, DeLaSalle Theatre brings William Shakespeare’s Coriolanus to the Friendshuh Stage. On campus performances will be next weekend Friday and Saturday, January 21 and 22, at 7:30pm. Tickets are free for all, face masks are required. The Minnesota State High School League One Act Competition begins the next week on January 26 and 27 at Washburn High School.

Play synopsis: Famed solider, Caius Marcius, returns home to Rome from the war with the Volscians, a hero with great personal valor. His high honor was being given the title of Coriolanus after the defeat of the enemy in their own city, Corioli. Upon his return, the senate elects him to succeed his friend Cominius as Consul, but the masses don’t agree that he is best suited to serve. Coriolanus tries to fight the will of the people with tragic consequences.

Remember to Wear a Mask at DLS Events

DeLaSalle has instituted temporary policy changes regarding activities and athletic events in place until COVID numbers diminish once again. All participants will be required to wear masks at all times in indoor settings, including practices and competitions. Spectator attendance will be limited and masks will be required. We will allow three spectators per participant in the Main Gym, and one spectator per participant in the LL Gray Gym. This applies for DeLaSalle participants as well as for participants from other schools. There will be no concession sales at athletic contests until further notice. More information about modifications to school lunch service, assemblies, and activities can be found by clicking HERE.

Continuous Enrollment and Course Registration for 2022-23

The DeLaSalle Board of Trustees made the decision five years ago to move to a continuous enrollment model. Continuous enrollment streamlines the re-enrollment process and eliminates the need for sending a repetitive re-registration form and a new tuition agreement to families each year. With almost all students re-enrolling at DeLaSalle year over year, the process of completing multiple forms ends up being unnecessary.

A timeline of key dates follows:
• February 11: Students in grades 9-10-11 will receive a course request worksheet that can help them plan which required and elective courses they may take in 2022-23. Course registration will be online and will open to students and families on the afternoon of February 11. Course requests are due no later than Friday, February 18.
• February 17: Students will meet with their academic mentors to review course selections.
• February 25: The TADS financial aid application for 2022-23 is due by this date.
• March 1-15: The 2022-23 non-refundable registration deposit of $350.00 per student will be added to your TADS tuition accounts. Monthly payers will have this deposit added on your normal tuition payment date. For families who have paid tuition in one or two installments, we will add an additional invoice to their agreement and TADS will process the registration deposit from their account.
• April 1-15: Once TADS has completed their auditing procedures, DeLaSalle will be communicating 2022-23 financial aid and individualized tuition arrangements for each returning family.
• May: Tuition payments begin for 2022-23, in monthly payments or one or two installments.

Tuition Announcement and 2022-23 Course Request Dates

The DeLaSalle Board of Trustees has approved several cornerstone pieces of next year’s budget, which will include increases in compensation for teachers and staff as well as increases in financial assistance programs. The Board approved a 2022-23 tuition amount of $15,690.00. All of us at DeLaSalle appreciate the sacrifice that parents are making to send their sons and daughters to our school, whether you are paying the full tuition or a reduced tuition through allocation of financial aid. Over 98 percent of parents are on time with tuition payments this year. We are also heartened that, primarily due to the wonderful support of our alumni, friends, and many of our parents, a DeLaSalle tuition is still less expensive than all but three Catholic high schools in the Twin Cities and less than half of what some private high schools charge. We remind families that applications for financial aid for 2022-23 are due by Friday, February 25.

TADS Applications for 2022-23

Make-up Entrance Exams for New Students

Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

On Thursday, January 13, the DeLaSalle community gathered in class groups to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. After students led the opening prayer and a reading from one of Dr. King’s sermons, a video on the dedication of MLK Day as a day of service was watched. Students discussed the importance and impact of service for others and then, in small groups, created lists of service action that could be done this weekend. DeLaSalle High School honors the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. by recognizing the federal holiday and day of service. There will be no school on Monday, January 17.
