Let us remember…that we are in the holy presence of God.
+ In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Loving God,
Thank you for the blessings I’ve received this week.
May I continue to see Your grace in all I do this weekend.
I pray for those I love, please bless them with a great day today.
May they feel Your holy presence in abundance.
Amen.

BLACK HISTORY MONTH ASSEMBLIES TODAY
DeLaSalle welcomes Frank Sentwali and Truth Maze to our Black History Month assemblies during WIN sessions today in the Florance Center.  WIN #1 is 11th and 12th graders; WIN #2 is 9th and 10th graders.  As part of our recognition of Black artists, educators, government and business leaders, students may wear the DeLaSalle BHM T-shirts –or– green, gold, or red solid-color shirts with their uniform skirts or pants.
SOCIAL JUSTICE WEEK: BASIC NEEDS and BEYOND
During next week’s Social Justice Week, DeLaSalle will focus on four basic human needs –food, shelter, water, clothing– to better understand how we can implement components of charity and justice to work for positive change.
Monday’s topic is FOOD. As part of our awareness of how many people live with food insecurity, we’re holding a food collection drive. Each grade has been assigned a needed item:
• 9th grade: Fruit (canned fruit, apple sauce, snack packs)
• 10th grade: Veggies (canned vegetables)
• 11th grade: Grains (pasta, rice, tortillas)
• 12th grade: Protein (peanut butter, beans, canned meat)
• Staff: Soups
Thank you for being generous as we pray and work for end to hunger.
NEED HELP WITH ESSAYS OR COMPOSITIONS?
NHS students will be available to help with your writing assignments –for any class– during every 1st WIN session, in Ms. Westphal’s room (A212). Come prepared with your drafts or outlines.

COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
(1) The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center invites current 12th graders to participate in a scholarship competition sponsored by PNC Bank. In a two-minute video, you answer these questions: What kind of ancestor will you be? What lessons will future generations learn from your story? What can you do in your life that will set an example for others to follow? First prize will receive $1,000, second prize $750, and third prize $250. Videos must be submitted by April 1, 2022. For more information visit this Freedom Center’s webpage.
(2) The Colleges That Change Lives Scholarship was created to help ensure that more students have access to a student-centered life-changing college experience at a CTCL member college. In 2022, CTCL will award two $4,000 scholarships ($1,000 per year for 4 years) for students attending one of their member schools. The application is online and must be submitted by March 25.
