Let us remember…that we are in the holy presence of God.
+ In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Loving God,
As we prepare to celebrate Christmas,
bless us during this season of Advent
that we will always remember
the greatest Christmas gift we have received
is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Amen.
Saint John Baptist de La Salle – Pray for us.
Live, Jesus, in our hearts – Forever!

In the News…

The Student Council has been presented with an awesome opportunity: We’ll be partnering with the Agape Oasis Foundation to sponsor three families with Christmas gifts. We need your help to raise funds for this great cause!

Five buckets will be in the Florance Center during lunches. The buckets are labeled by ID numbers: 00s and 10s, 20s and 30s, 40s and 50s, 60s and 70s, 80s and 90s. Please deposit your donation coins in the bucket that matches your ID number.

All coins are positive points for your team and are worth the face value. For example, a quarter is worth 25 points and a penny would be worth 1 point. Dollar bills are worth face value –$1 = 100 points– but are negative values. Deposit dollar bills in others’ buckets to lower their point score.

At the end of the week, the ID number group with the highest point value will be allowed to get lunch first for an entire week and earn an out-of-uniform day. So bring in those coins to boost your team and dollar bills to subtract from others –and raise funds for the Agape Oasis families!

Reminder:  This week, we flip Wednesday and Thursday schedules. We will have WIN on Wednesday to allow us to gather for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception and Our Lady of Guadalupe Mass.

Fr. Kevin will be at DeLaSalle tomorrow (Tuesday), during both WIN sessions to offer the sacrament of Reconciliation. Students who do not wish to receive the sacrament but would like to talk and receive spiritual direction are also welcome to visit with Fr. Kevin or Ms. Stecklein during this time. Sign up in SST under Nicole Stecklein.

Be kind to yourself as the first semester comes to an end; reduce your stress level by using good study habits to prepare for finals. You can use this Finals Prep Tool to help you prepare for finals and map out your strategy for each day. Once you have taken notes and studied for finals, it is time to take them. Follow these Testing Strategies to help you be successful with finals. These tools and more can be found on the DLS Library Homework help page in Canvas.

Catholic Eldercare, located close by in Northeast Minneapolis, offers senior services such as assisted living, adult day services, and pastoral care. They are currently hiring for dining services; duties could be food stocking, meal preparation, serving residents, and clean-up. The hourly wage starts at $15 / hour. For more information, visit their website or call 612-362-2480.

Packets of school pictures and student ID cards were distributed during lunches Monday. Information on how to order additional photos was included in the packet. You may also go to the Lifetouch website; DeLaSalle’s “Picture Day ID” is EVTQG4FDK. Order forms are also available from Ms. Gallagher in the administration office. Picture Retake Day is scheduled for December 10.
