DeLaSalle congratulates 63 11th and 12th grade students who earned academic recognition with induction into the National Honor Society at an evening ceremony on Tuesday, November 30. Tiffany (Trawick) Johnson `09, a public speaker and Marketing Manager at the Penumbra Theater, provided an inspiring keynote address to assembled honorees and their families.

The inducted students have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher, chose to apply for membership, and were selected based upon their scholarship, service to school and community, leadership, and personal character –the four pillars of the NHS.

The new inductees join 59 returning members of the DeLaSalle NHS chapter who were previously inducted in the 2020-21 school year. The DeLaSalle chapter of the National Honor Society was established in 1929, part of a society recognized in high schools and by colleges across the country.

DeLaSalle also recognized a total of 373 students at individual grade level ceremonies on November 9 and 11 for their outstanding academic performance in the 2020-21 school year. Those students in grades 10-11-12 received pins for being on the Honor Roll or High Honor Roll for both semesters last year and/or they earned Academic Letters for earning a place on the Honor Roll for a minimum of four semesters.
