As the seasons have changed to the traditional winter programs, we take a look back with pride at the dedication of our student athletes in the fall. More than half of the student body joined a fall athletic program in the fall, beginning practices in mid-August – with many athletes transitioning to other activities programs that launched their seasons in October and November. We have now begun our winter athletic programs in girls’ hockey, boys’ hockey, boys’ swimming, wrestling, competition cheer, boys’ basketball, girls’ basketball, and new in 2021-22, alpine skiing and nordic skiing.

We’re proud of all of our fall athletes and salute their accomplishments — especially these individual athletes who earned accolades for their stellar performances during the fall sports season:


GIRLS’ SWIMMING

The co-op program, home based at St. Anthony Village High School and their pool, includes swimmers from DeLaSalle, St. Anthony, and St. Agnes. Thirteen swimmers on the team go to DeLaSalle, and the Islanders joined with their teammates to enjoy a successful season.

BOYS’ SOCCER
The boys’ soccer team finished the season with a 16-1 record, suffering its first and only loss of the season in the Section semi-finals (a game they dominated only to lose 1-0 in the final 30 seconds). The Islanders earned the Tri-Metro Conference championship and the number one ranking in the Class AA rankings for the last five weeks of the regular season, winning five games against top ten teams.

GIRLS’ SOCCER
The young Islanders, playing eight ninth and tenth-graders regularly on varsity, finished their season with a record of 6-9-1, including a Tri-Metro Conference record of 3-3.

VOLLEYBALL
For the third time in the past seven years, the Islanders advanced to the section championship, playing their best volleyball in the closing stretch of the season, including a stirring section semi-final win at the top seed, three games to one. They finished their season with a record of 18-10, including a Tri-Metro Conference record of 6-1.

CROSS COUNTRY
The boys’ cross country team finished second in the Tri-Metro Conference Championships and tied for fifth in the section meet. On two separate occasions this year the boys’ team took home first place in the meets they competed in.

FOOTBALL
The football team finished strong, winning three of the last five games and earning a chance to host (and win) a first-round playoff game at De for the first time since 2018.

The Islanders finished the Tri-Metro Conference season with a 3-3 record, losing their first round section match in Section 6AA.
