Let us remember…that we are in the holy presence of God.
+ In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
God in Heaven,
I devote this day to you, my Lord, and seek Your goodness in everything.
I will look for Your holy presence in everyone I meet and the beauty of nature that surrounds me.

In the news…
Today is DeLaSalle’s annual Day of Giving! It is a 24-hour opportunity for the Islander community to come together in support of our students, teachers, and mission. The overall goal is to raise $100,000 and it will take everyone’s participation (students, parents, grandparents, educators, alumni, and friends) to get us there. No gift is too small (or too big)!
There are several challenges in place for the day, including some exciting prizes for students. The Student Council will be collecting money in Albers Atrium before school. Bring your donation to help us meet our two challenges:
(1) If we work together to contribute $500, everyone will get a free ice cream cookie dessert tomorrow (Thursday).
(2) If we can double our goal, collecting $1,000, the administration will give us an Out of Uniform Day on Friday, November 19!
There is also an important challenge for parents: DeLaSalle will earn an extra $10,000 from an anonymous donor if at least 100 current and past families make a gift. So, make sure to tell your parents and grandparents about the easy way to give online in support of your school.
We are excited to recognize scores of Islanders for their academic accomplishments. Students will receive an academic pin if they earned a place on the Honor Roll during both semesters of the 2020-21 school year, and an academic letter if they have earned a place on the Honor Roll for four semesters. The Classes of 2023 and 2024 received their recognition during Tuesday’s WIN sessions. The Class of 2022 will be honored tomorrow (Thursday) during the first WIN session.
Of note… On Tuesday, November 30, we will recognize those students who are being inducted into the DeLaSalle chapter of the National Honor Society. The NHS Induction Ceremony will be held at 7:00pm in the Florance Center. Students accepted for induction into the chapter will receive an invitation to the event in mid-November.
All students will have their school picture taken and receive their official school identification card this Thursday, November 11. Students are reminded this is a regular school uniform day.
Coach Fassett will be on campus on Thursday, November 11th, during WIN 1 and WIN 2 in the LL Gray Gym for girls’ basketball information sessions. If you are planning on signing up for girls’ basketball or you already have, please attend one of these sessions to make sure you have all the information needed for the upcoming season which starts on Monday, November 15th.
Our Wrestling Coach, Ernie McNeal, will be at DeLaSalle during lunches today (Wednesday) to talk about the upcoming wrestling season. Stop by and talk to him to learn more!
This is National Vocations Awareness Week in the Catholic Church. Brother Dylan invites all students who wish to talk about vocations to vowed religious communities, such as the Christian Brothers, to sign up for his Thursday WIN session in his classroom, B214.
Registration for participation in Islander winter sports at DeLaSalle is now open! We offer boys’ and girls’ basketball; boys’ and girls’ hockey; boys’ swimming; wrestling; winter sideline cheer; and, new this year, nordic skiing. If you want to participate in a sport, you should register here as soon as possible so that you can receive important team and practice information. You must also have a current physical on file with the Student Activities office.
