Just a reminder, loaner iPads are reserved only for students who forget their devices at home. We will begin issuing minor violations for students who request loaners starting today (Wednesday, Nov. 3). Please refer to the student handbook on not having your device at school: If students fail to bring their device to school, they may check to see if a loaner is available in the IT Office, D217. If not, students are responsible for completing course work as though they had their device with them. Students who forget to bring their device to school will be issued a minor violation.
Good luck to the Islander volleyball team as they take on #2 seed St. Paul Highland Park tonight in the section final – the winner goes to state! If the Islanders win, it will be their first state tournament in program history!
Before the game, join us at our first-ever sign making competition in D104 at 5:30pm. There will be prizes awarded to signs deemed most creative, most artistic, and having the best school spirit. You will then be able to bring your signs to the match to show your support for our team.
De will be offering fan buses to the game. If you want to ride a fan bus, please sign up here.
We are excited to recognize scores of students for their academic accomplishments. Students will receive an academic pin if they earned a place on the Honor Roll during both semesters of the 2020-21 school year, and an academic letter if they have earned a place on the Honor Roll for four semesters. The recognition will occur by grade level during WIN sessions next week:
- The Class of 2024 will be recognized during the first WIN session on Tuesday, November 9.
- The Class of 2023 will be recognized during the second WIN session on Tuesday, Nov. 9.
- The Class of 2022 will be recognized during the first WIN session on Thursday, November 11.
Finally, on Tuesday, November 30, we will recognize those students who are being inducted into the DeLaSalle chapter of the National Honor Society. The NHS induction ceremony will be held at 7:00pm in the Florance Center. Students accepted for induction into the chapter will receive an invitation to the event in mid-November.
The Inklings Book Club will have our first meeting of the year during WIN 2 on Tuesday, November 9 in B211. Last year we read Toni Adeyemi’s Children of Blood and Bone and over the summer we read her second book in the series, Children of Virtue and Vengeance. On the 9th, we will discuss the first half of V and V and make plans for what we want to read this year. Join us even if you haven’t read these books and we will catch you up!
As an opportunity to seek God’s healing for ourselves and for our community, we invite you to join in this community wide pilgrimage.

Students may now register for winter sports at DeLaSalle! We offer boys’ and girls’ basketball, boys’ and girls’ hockey, boys’ swimming, wrestling, winter sideline cheer, and, new this year, nordic skiing. If you want to participate in a sport, you should register here as soon as possible so that you can receive important information about practices and the team. You must also have a current physical on file with the Student Activities office.
