In the news…
Just a reminder, loaner iPads are reserved only for students who forget their devices at home. We will begin issuing minor violations for students who request loaners starting today (Wednesday, Nov. 3). Please refer to the student handbook on not having your device at school: If students fail to bring their device to school, they may check to see if a loaner is available in the IT Office, D217. If not, students are responsible for completing course work as though they had their device with them. Students who forget to bring their device to school will be issued a minor violation.
Good luck to the Islander volleyball team as they take on #2 seed St. Paul Highland Park this Thursday night in the section final – the winner goes to state! If the Islanders win, it will be their first state tournament in program history!
Before the game, join us at our first-ever sign making competition in D104 at 5:30pm. There will be prizes awarded to signs deemed most creative, most artistic, and having the best school spirit. You will then be able to bring your signs to the match to show your support for our team.
De will be offering fan buses to the game. If you want to ride a fan bus, please sign up here. The link will close at 6:00pm tonight.
The Inklings Book Club will have our first meeting of the year during WIN 2 on Tuesday, November 9 in B211. Last year we read Toni Adeyemi’s Children of Blood and Bone and over the summer we read her second book in the series, Children of Virtue and Vengeance. On the 9th, we will discuss the first half of V and V and make plans for what we want to read this year. Join us even if you haven’t read these books and we will catch you up!
As an opportunity to seek God’s healing for ourselves and for our community, we invite you to join in this community wide pilgrimage.
What: A Pilgrimage with St. Martin de Porres, Patron Saint of Racial Reconciliation
When: Saturday, November 6, 2021 – 9:30am to 1:30pm
Where: Pilgrimage will start at 9:30am with a pancake breakfast at Ascension Church and end at the Basilica of St. Mary. (approximately 3 miles)
Are you interested in volunteering and building relationships with adults with developmental disabilities? Join Lasallian Ministry during WIN #2 tomorrow to learn more about a new program connecting DeLaSalle students with clients from Workabilities Inc. – a day program for people with different abilities. Sign up in SST under Ms. Stecklein.
Students may now register for winter sports at DeLaSalle! We offer boys’ and girls’ basketball, boys’ and girls’ hockey, boys’ swimming, wrestling, winter sideline cheer, and, new this year, nordic skiing. If you want to participate in a sport, you should register here as soon as possible so that you can receive important information about practices and the team. You must also have a current physical on file with the Student Activities office.
