Student Council is opening applications for class representative elections. If you are interested, please download and complete the form below:

In order to appear on the Class Representative ballot, you must return your nomination packet to Mr. Buffington by Wednesday, October 6 via email or in person in the Activities Office. We are especially looking for 9th and 10th grade representatives. For any questions concerning the positions or the electoral process, email Mr. Buffington.

Ninth graders, it is your turn for class Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes. Your class Mass is tomorrow and you should report to the LL Gray Gym at the start of WIN. Mass is celebrated by our school chaplain, Fr. Kevin Kenney ’78.

Join LEAP (Lasallians for Equity and Peace) for a conversation about ways to better operate in solidarity with people who are marginalized or oppressed. LEAP meets on Wednesdays during all lunches in D104 North (hallway side). All are welcome!!

BLK has its next meeting on Wednesday after school at 3:30pm in D104. We would love to see you there! Please take a second and fill out this short survey to let us know your feedback from past meetings, what you would like to see from us (including topics), and any other suggestions. Your input will help us plan accordingly for the school year.

Cece Ntanga, Community Engagement Coordinator from Agape Oasis, will speak about the great work being done by Agape Oasis and ways that you can get involved and volunteer. Agape Oasis is a 24 hour child care and crisis intervention center that provides culturally relevant integrated services that focus on empowering people, restoring families, healing individuals, and strengthening communities. Earn 1 Christian Service Hour for attending this session. Sign up in SST for the Thursday’s talk during the 1st WIN session.

We are excited to welcome back Laurie Lindeen to DeLaSalle for an essay writing workshop after school on Thursday. Please join us at 3:00pm in D104 (north) for a hands-on opportunity to work with a professional writer and essay writing coach as you start, or perfect your college essay.

We are looking for 12th grade students to help lead the 10th graders at their Respect Retreat on Wednesday, October 13, from 8:15am-2:45pm. Leaders will receive 8 Christian Service Hours. Space is limited. Priority will go to those students who attended last year’s leadership trainings. Sign up here: Questions, please contact Ms. Stecklein.

October is Respect for Life Month, a time in which we’re invited to reflect more deeply on the dignity of every human life. As part of our DeLaSalle celebration of life, we will be partnering with Agape Oasis Child Care and Crisis Intervention Center and Mary’s Place Transitional Housing to help support those in need. Agape Oasis is in need of SCHOOL SUPPLIES (pencils, markers, notebooks, etc.) and Mary’s Place is in need DIAPERS (size 2-5 preferred). Please drop off donations in the portable baby crib located in Albers Atrium. Thank you for your donations!!

Diversity Week needs your help!! We are looking for students and/ or outside performers to share in the Diversity Week Celebration of Cultures taking place on Friday, October 15. If you or anyone you know would be willing to share a culturally significant song, dance, poem or other form of expression during the final show, please complete this form. Your help and input are greatly appreciated!

October is College Knowledge Month in Minnesota – and at DeLaSalle we call it October Madness. Every Friday in October, the College Advising staff will be in D104 North after school to host college application work sessions, Seniors, put this on your calendar and join us! You will thank yourself a month from now for utilizing this dedicated time to work on your applications!

You can virtually explore helpful panel discussions and college admission representative sessions from various schools during the Minnesota Association for College Admission Counseling virtual college fairs tomorrow through Thursday. This is an awesome opportunity to get information from the college side about the process of applying to and attending college from the comfort of your own home! These sessions are good for all ages and stages of the college planning process. Try to make it a goal to attend at least one session as part of College Knowledge Month.
