God, come be with us today.
Fill our hearts with joy.
Fill our minds with learning.
Fill our classrooms with peace.
Fill our friendships with kindness.
Fill our school with love.”

Amen

In the news…

Students in each grade will again have the opportunity to celebrate Mass together as a class. Class Masses are organized by Lasallian Ministry and celebrated by school chaplain, Fr. Kevin Kenney ‘78, who is the pastor of St. Olaf Catholic Church in Minneapolis. Class Masses will be held on Tuesdays during WIN. Each class will gather once this fall for Mass at nearby Our Lady of Lourdes. Twelfth grade students will have their Mass today. Seniors should meet in the Florance Center at 10:00am. Eleventh grade will have its class Mass next Tuesday; 10th grade on September 28; and 9th grade on October 5.

Come and see what the Environmental Club (formerly known as the Green Team) is all about. The club will have its first meeting after school today. Meet in the kitchen after school. Snacks will be provided.

LEAP (Lasallians for Equity and Peace) will hold its first meeting of the school year tomorrow during each lunch wave. Bring your lunch and join us in D104 – anyone is welcome to attend. During our meetings, we will eat lunch while discussing relevant social justices issues in our world. LEAP is a place to meet new people and form community while learning about current issues and what we can do as high schoolers.

Are you interested in helping with lunch time prayers? We are looking for students who are interested in giving short announcements and saying the lunch time prayers over the PA system. Students will attend a WIN time training and will be put on a schedule to spread out days. Sign up here. Questions: Contact Ms. Stecklein in the Lasallian Ministry office.

Seniors will be meeting with their college advisors in small groups over the next two weeks either during lunch or WIN sessions. Students are required to attend these sessions. The sessions will be a great help and provide a small group environment where you will learn how to get started on college applications and answer any questions about college planning. Meetings will be held in B104 and students will receive a Google Calendar invitation to their specific meeting.

Each year college admissions representatives from across the country visit DeLaSalle to meet with students who are interested in their college or university. Click here to learn how you can take advantage of these opportunities and how you can see which schools are scheduled to visit DeLaSalle in your Naviance account. More colleges are added to the list daily.

The DeLaSalle College Advising and Counseling office invites all 12th grade students and parents to learn more about the college planning process at College Planning Night for Seniors and Parents.
