Second Semester Report Cards Will Be Sent in June

Today is the last day of classes for the 2020-21 school year. All faculty must report final grades by Wednesday, June 2. Second semester report cards will be sent the week of June 7, and the second semester honor roll will be available that same week.

Summer Coursework Required for Honors, AP Students

Students registered for some honors or Advanced Placement courses in 2020-21 are required to complete coursework before the new school year begins on Monday, August 23. You can find the assigned coursework here.

Cafeteria Account Balances

Students who will not return to DeLaSalle in 2021-22 may request a reimbursement or balance transfer of any remaining money on their cafeteria account. Families should indicate their preference using this form. Requests will only be processed if a student does not have any outstanding tuition payments and has turned in all school-issued materials. Cafeteria accounts for all returning students roll over to the next school year.

Find Free Meals for Kids This Summer

DeLaSalle families can find free meals for students this summer through the Free Meals for Kids mobile app. The app, which can be downloaded in the Apple or Google Play app stores, helps students 18 or younger find free serving sites in their community and provides location, directions to the site, and hours and days of distribution. No registration or prior sign-up is necessary. Learn more here

2020-21 Yearbooks Will Be Delivered This Summer

Capture the memories of this unique school year in the 2020-21 yearbook! Yearbooks are on sale for $60 and you can purchase one here. Books will be delivered in July – and will include coverage of year-end events like Prom and graduation.

DeLaSalle Quiz Bowl Team Competes in Nationals This Weekend

The DeLaSalle Quiz Bowl team will compete this weekend at the High School National Championship Tournament! Good luck to the team of Nat Chang-Deutsch ‘24, Bolu Illelaboye ‘21, captain Kieran Rowe ‘21, and Shane Zenk ‘21. The Islanders qualified a team to nationals for the 15th straight year and DeLaSalle is one of 14 Minnesota teams competing. The tournament is virtual with preliminary rounds on Saturday and playoff rounds on Sunday.

Islanders Participate in Leadership Training Academy June 9

Students involved in leadership roles on campus will participate in leadership development in early June. Sports captains, Islander Leadership Team members, and other activities leaders will learn how to build character, foster team spirit, and motivate others during the June 9 training. Performance coach Rick Rassier will reflect about his life theme “Every minute has a purpose” as he inspires students to take their leadership to the next level.

DeLaSalle Offers Free Summer Workouts to Grades 9-12

As part of the Minnesota State High School League Summer Waiver Period, DeLaSalle coaches are allowed to conduct trainings for high school student- athletes throughout June and July. The Summer Waiver Period is June 7-July 31, with a no-contact period of July 3-9. You may find what days and times our athletic teams will be hosting trainings at DeLaSalle here. Please note that some spaces are reserved for our summer youth camps.

Islanders Invited to Register for Summer Strength & Conditioning

Islander student athletes can build their strength, power, speed and other athletic qualities through DeLaSalle’s summer Strength and Conditioning program. The program is from June 7-July 30 (with no contact the week of July 4) and costs $50 per athlete. Athletes will sign up for a one-hour training period between 7:00-11:00am on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. In addition to building a robust athletic profile, the training program emphasizes injury risk reduction through exercise and other modes.  Athletes will also learn more about recovery, nutrition, and the physiology behind athletic performance.

Incoming ninth grade students in the Class of 2025 can also build their athletic profile from the ground up in the Foundations program. With an emphasis on motor learning and teaching high-quality movement, 9th grade athletes will be laying the groundwork for a tremendous career on the Island. Initial summer sessions will have an emphasis on learning basic movements of sport, and then progressing to more advanced throughout the summer! This program also costs $50 with a one-hour training period between 11:00am-1:00pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Around DeLaSalle

One of the people who made graduation memorable for the Class of 2021 was our Commencement speaker – Dr. Aura Wharton-Beck. Dr. Wharton-Beck is a professor of educational leadership at the University of St. Thomas. She encouraged graduates to do good deeds to benefit the world and advance the common good. “As I look at the Class of 2021, I remain confident that…you are going to make a significant contribution to society.”
