Father, thank You for this Friday. Thank You for seeing us through another week and bringing us to the weekend. We pray that this weekend will be filled with rest, refreshment, and quiet time with You. Our lives can seem so overwhelming and confusing, but we know that You are there by our side always.

In the news…
Monday begins the final week of classes of the 2020-21 school year. Congratulations on all of your hard work!
Gold Cohort students will report to campus on Monday and Tuesday. Silver Cohort students will report to campus on Thursday and Friday. There will be an asynchronous learning day on Wednesday. Students who have a school locker should remove all personal belongings on the last day their cohort will be on campus (Tuesday for Gold Cohort students and Friday for Silver Cohort students).
Students should return all textbooks and school materials to their teachers during the last week of classes. You may give the materials to your teacher during class. Teachers will also be available in their classroom before school starting at 8:00am or after school until 4:00pm. You will be charged for any materials you do not return.
Please return all Library books no later than Monday or you may be charged for the replacement cost of the materials.
Students who will not return to DeLaSalle in 2021-22 may request a reimbursement or balance transfer of any remaining money on their cafeteria account. Families should indicate their preference using this form. Requests will only be processed if a student does not have any outstanding tuition payments and has turned in all school-issued materials. Cafeteria accounts for all returning students roll over to the next school year.
DeLaSalle is seeking students to join the Islander Leadership Team (ILT) for the 2021-22 school year! We need dedicated Islanders who can lead grade level retreats and Islander Pride Days, represent the school at public events, and help the Class of 2025 transition to De through the Summer Bridging Academy.
Leaders must be self-confident and self-directed juniors or seniors with strong communication skills and a willingness to lead others. An ideal ILT leader is also a positive role model, enthusiastic, and has respect for diverse ideas and personalities. Islander Leadership Team is a great way to get involved, learn valuable leadership skills, and be a part of something that is meaningful and fun! If you are interested, please submit an application by Wednesday, May 26th.
As part of the Minnesota State High School League Summer Waiver Period, DeLaSalle coaches are allowed to conduct trainings for high school student- athletes throughout June and July. The Summer Waiver Period is June 7-July 31, with a no-contact period of July 3-9. You may find what days and times our athletic teams will be hosting trainings at DeLaSalle here. Please note that some spaces are reserved for our summer youth camps.
Islander student athletes can build their strength, power, speed and other athletic qualities through DeLaSalle’s summer Strength and Conditioning program. The program is from June 7-July 30 (with no contact the week of July 4) and costs $50 per athlete. Athletes will sign up for a one-hour training period between 7:00-11:00am on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. In addition to building a robust athletic profile, the training program emphasizes injury risk reduction through exercise and other modes. Athletes will also learn more about recovery, nutrition, and the physiology behind athletic performance.
Incoming ninth grade students in the Class of 2025 can also build their athletic profile from the ground up in the Foundations program. With an emphasis on motor learning and teaching high-quality movement, 9th grade athletes will be laying the groundwork for a tremendous career on the Island. Initial summer sessions will have an emphasis on learning basic movements of sport, and then progressing to more advanced throughout the summer! This program also costs $50 with a one-hour training period between 11:00am-1:00pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Do you want to learn how to drive? There will be two driver’s ed classes offered this summer – one in June, the other in late July/early August. The class costs $399 and features 30 hours of classroom instruction over 10 days. The class will be held virtually via Google Meet on Mondays-Fridays from 1:00-4:00pm. Learn more about the class and apply here.
Students and families participating in onsite activities are encouraged to seek regular COVID-19 testing as a form of screening for illness. Now that the State has greatly increased testing capacity at free community testing locations (in addition to the free at-home testing kits), getting a COVID-19 test is quick and easy. Students and families who have no symptoms or exposure are encouraged to get tested regularly.
- Free community testing locations (saliva tests through Vault Health, run by the State)
Scroll to find your city. Locations include Minnneapolis (Convention Center), St. Paul (Roy Wilkins), MSP Airport (Terminal 1), Anoka (Armory), Bloomington (Creekside Community Center), Brooklyn Park (Starlite Center)
- Search all testing locations (saliva or nasal swabs, includes pharmacies, clinics, etc.)
Search by city or zip code
- Order your free at home testing kit (saliva tests through Vault Health, run by the State)
Drop off completed tests at a UPS store. Or, take the test the night before and drop off the completed/sealed test kit in the main school office on the same morning as on-site tests for DeLaSalle employee (June 4).
DeLaSalle encourages all individuals who are eligible to seek a COVID-19 vaccine to get one. You may sign up for a vaccination through Minnesota’s Vaccine Connector, which is available online or by calling the Minnesota Department of Health COVID-19 Public Hotline at 1-833-431-2053. The Vaccine Connector website is available in multiple languages (select language at top right) and translation is available for phone calls. You may also seek vaccination opportunities through local health clinics and pharmacies. Please contact Caroline Sell, Health Services Coordinator, with questions or to receive additional information and resources.
