Based on parent survey feedback, we have adjusted the makeup of our learning cohorts to give students an opportunity to learn with different classmates than they may have seen in the first semester. Students will be grouped by birth month rather than last name.
The Gold Cohort will include students born from January through June and will attend in-person classes on Mondays and Tuesdays.
The Silver Cohort will include students born from July through December and attend in-person classes on Thursdays and Fridays. Students will participate in distance learning on the three other days of each week they are not physically at school.
Students in the Blue Cohort will continue in full distance learning five days a week.
Please note that the class schedule for hybrid learning differs from the online learning schedule:
Period 1/4: 8:30-9:50
Period 2/WIN: 10:00-11:20
Period 3/7 (lunch): 11:30-1:30
Period 4/8: 1:40-3:00
Asynchronous learning will continue on Wednesdays in weeks with five days of classes. There will be no asynchronous learning on Wednesdays of holiday-shortened weeks. On asynchronous learning days, students should check their Canvas accounts for assignments by 9:00am. Meanwhile, teachers will be available for additional support during office hours on asynchronous days, in addition to participating in professional planning.
Thank You for Following Health & Safety Protocols
We thank each member of our DeLaSalle family for closely following our safety protocols to ensure a healthy school community. This prevented any secondary transmission of COVID-19 in the school in the first semester and we hope to maintain this positive trend. As students, faculty, staff, and visitors return to campus, please continue to wear a face covering in the school, check your temperature when you arrive, maintain a physical distance of six feet, and sanitize your hands regularly. You can find a reminder about health and safety protocols on our COVID-19 webpage and in our Pandemic Preparedness Plan.
School Transportation Routes Change; Service Resumes Monday
School transportation resumes on Monday, January 11 when hybrid instruction returns to DeLaSalle. Please note that we are unable to make any route changes until the week of January 18. Changes received by January 14 will start on January 19. Please contact email@example.com with questions.
DeLaSalle Distributes First Semester Report Cards
DeLaSalle sent first semester report cards to parents today (January 8). Parents, please check your email to obtain your student’s report card. The school will allow families to change a passing letter grade to a grade of “P” (Pass) for the first semester in recognition of the ongoing challenges many students experienced as a result of the pandemic. Those who wish to request the change must complete the Google form included in the report card communication by Friday, January 15. Any grade changed to a “P” will not count towards the student’s grade point average (GPA). As a reminder, all failing grades will automatically be changed to NG (no grade) and students must recover the credit if the course is required for graduation.
DeLaSalle Will Honor Life, Legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr.
DeLaSalle will celebrate the life and legacy of Reverend Martin Luther King Junior with an all-school prayer service during the first WIN session on Friday, January 15. Our guest speaker that day will be Bishop Richard Howell, the pastor of Shiloh Temple International Ministries in north Minneapolis and grandfather of Carmen ‘21 and Harmony ‘23 Thomas. The musical group “Gifted Hands” featuring Rayo Daniel ‘20, Andre Dukes Jr. ‘21, Joe Mason III ‘21, and Emauri Shaw ‘21 will also perform during the prayer service. Tenth grade students will attend the prayer service while remaining physically distanced in the Florance Center, while all other students will participate via a livestream. DeLaSalle will be closed and there is no school in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. federal holiday on Monday, January 18.

Families May Now Apply for Financial Aid for 2021-22
DeLaSalle families may now begin to apply for financial aid for the 2021-22 school year through Tuition Aid Data Services (TADS). You may start your application on the TADS website using the login you created the first time you logged into TADS. This financial aid worksheet can help you gather all of the information you need and will help save time completing your actual financial aid application. You are able to use your 2019 taxes but will still need to upload or fax a copy of your 2020 W-2. TADS will communicate by email if they have any questions or need any more documentation. Please make sure to check your email. For a refresher and access to the TADS worksheet, go to our website.
