Wake me up Lord, so that the evil of racism
finds no home within me.
Keep watch over my heart Lord,
and remove from me any barriers to your grace,
that may oppress and offend my brothers and sisters.
Fill my spirit Lord, so that I may give
services of justice and peace.
Clear my mind Lord, and use it for your glory.
And finally, remind us Lord that you said,
“blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called children of God.”
Amen.

In the news…

DeLaSalle is operating under full distance learning for the rest of the first semester. Here’s what you need to know to be a successful student during this time.

The Archdiocese of St. Paul-Minneapolis has designated today as a day of prayer and fasting against the sin of racism. The prayer we included at the beginning of today’s Source is drawn from a prayer service for racial healing in our land from the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. The archdiocese will hold a special prayer service tonight at 7:00pm at the Cathedral, which you can watch via a livestream here.

Students will meet with their academic mentor today between 10:30am-12:00pm. Mentors will “ping” their students to attend the meeting via the Student Support Time software. This will be the last academic mentor meeting of the first semester and is a critical check-in for students and mentors as the semester draws to a close.

DeLaSalle typically administers standardized tests to all students on the second Wednesday of each October. Students in grades 9-10-11 take developmentally appropriate standardized tests which help prepare them for college entrance exams. This year, we have had to spread out the tests to accommodate for COVID-19 safety protocols.

DeLaSalle will offer the Iowa Test of Educational Development to ninth grade students on Wednesday, January 27, from 8:30am-12:30pm. Tenth graders may take the Pre-ACT on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, from 8:30am-12:00pm. All students are strongly encouraged to take the test offered at their grade level but must opt-in by preregistering. Please click on the name of the test for a form that describes the test and provides specific logistics and registration. All tests are paper-pencil and given onsite following our Covid-19 school safety protocols.

Please complete the registration form for either exam by Friday, December 4.

DeLaSalle will offer a school-based ACT test to current students on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. We are excited to announce this opportunity as we do not know what testing centers will be open or closed this spring and summer, or how colleges will handle college entrance exams for the Class of 2022. This school-based test DOES NOT appear on the ACT website list of national test dates. You must register and pay for the test through DeLaSalle. The last day to register for the test is Friday, December 4. Please register here.

You can still get a yearbook from last year. 2019-20 yearbooks are available in the Main Office for $60. See Ms. Goeddeke with questions.

DeLaSalle families may order a supply of healthy breakfast and lunches for students participating via distance learning. Orders should be placed by Monday at 3:00pm for delivery on Thursday. Please use this form to place your order.
