Lord God, You gather us together as one people, grateful not only for the gift of life itself, but also for the many gifts of friendship, love, devotion and forgiveness that we share in common.
We thank you for having created us and given us to each other in this DeLaSalle Community. Use us to make You visible and known so that Your great love for us might be mirrored in our love for one another.
And as we prepare to celebrate the feast of Thanksgiving, help us live our lives with ever grateful and humble hearts. AMEN.

In the news…
DeLaSalle is operating under full distance learning for the rest of the semester. Here’s what you need to know to be a successful student during this time.
We will gather virtually as a school community today for our annual Thanksgiving prayer service. Please remain logged in to your 5th period class to participate in the prayer service. And thank you to all who helped make our prayer service possible today.
There are no classes this Wednesday through Friday. We wish you and your family a safe and healthy Thanksgiving holiday and break!
DeLaSalle families may order a supply of healthy breakfast and lunches for students participating via distance learning. Orders should be placed by Monday at 3:00pm for pickup on Wednesday between 11:00am-3:00pm. Families may also have the meal kits delivered to their house. Please use this form to place your order.
DeLaSalle typically administers standardized tests to all students on the second Wednesday of each October. Students in grades 9-10-11 take developmentally appropriate standardized tests which help prepare them for college entrance exams. This year, we have had to spread out the tests to accommodate for COVID-19 safety protocols.
DeLaSalle will offer the Iowa Test of Educational Development to ninth grade students on Wednesday, January 27, from 8:30am-12:30pm. Tenth graders may take the Pre-ACT on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, from 8:30am-12:00pm. All students are strongly encouraged to take the test offered at their grade level but must opt-in by preregistering. Please click on the name of the test for a form that describes the test and provides specific logistics and registration. All tests are paper-pencil and given onsite following our Covid-19 school safety protocols.
Please complete the registration form for either exam by Friday, December 4.
DeLaSalle will offer a school-based ACT test to current students on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. We are excited to announce this opportunity as we do not know what testing centers will be open or closed this spring and summer, or how colleges will handle college entrance exams for the Class of 2022. This school-based test DOES NOT appear on the ACT website list of national test dates. You must register and pay for the test through DeLaSalle. The last day to register for the test is Friday, December 4. Please register here.
Learn how to drive from an Islander alum! The next driver’s ed class starts the Monday after Thanksgiving. Students will receive 30 hours of instruction in a class that meets virtually via Google Meet. Classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training cost $399 and the program will accept the first 30 students who register with a $200 down payment. Click here for more information.
