Thank you, DeLaSalle supporters! The broad and connected DeLaSalle community of current families, alumni, past parents, friends, and believers has once again stepped up in an incredible way. On October 10 at the Christian Brothers’ Gala, the school’s only all-school annual fundraiser, we raised three-quarters of a million dollars in gross revenue. The $751,101 raised set a new record for the annual event.
The 2020 celebration occurred virtually for the first time because our safety protocols in response to the pandemic prevent us from drawing large crowds together at the school. In addition to shattering the fundraising record, this year’s Gala attracted more than 500 registrants for the Gala, who tuned in from 18 states and overseas! Attendees included students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of the school. Alumni represented classes from the 1940s to the 2020s!
Supporters helped De reach its budgeted commitments in financial assistance and school operations for 2020-21. Simply put, your generosity has an immediate impact. This fall, students are engaged in learning on campus or at home because your support makes that possible. Young women and men are becoming critical thinkers who are grounded in faith and are passionate about service to others. They are discovering that who you are is more important than where you come from or what you have. THANK YOU!
We also revealed our new logo Saturday night – part of our larger brand revitalization spearheaded by renowned graphic designer and Hall of Famer Joe Duffy ‘67. Joe has been mentoring and collaborating with DeLaSalle visual arts students for the last nine months to bring this design to fruition. Learn more here about the process and meaning behind the new logo. While we have quickly implemented the new logo and brand in some places, it will take some time as we phase the updated logo into such physical elements as school and athletic uniforms, exterior signage, and internal venues like the floor in the gymnasium.
The Gala has become a fixture on the DeLaSalle calendar each October. The event is staged after months of planning and attention to detail, under the direction of Gala coordinator (and current parent), Brenda Irvin, and the DeLaSalle Advancement Office staff.
