Dear DeLaSalle Community,

July 1, 2020 marks a milestone in our school’s history.

After 41 years of dedicated service, Barry Lieske begins his retirement. Throughout his career — in the early years as a coach, guidance counselor, and dean of students, and later as our principal and president — Barry has successfully prepared generations of Islanders for adult lives of learning, faith, and service to others. We are deeply grateful for Barry’s unwavering devotion to our students, and we wish for Barry and his wife Barb a long, healthy, and happy retirement.

Today, Dr. Bryan Bass becomes our new president. Selected by the Board of Trustees in January, Dr. Bass has been working closely with staff to ensure a smooth transition. An energetic educator who has devoted his career to innovating personalized learning, elevating curricula rigor, eliminating achievement disparities, and collaborating closely with staff and faculty, Dr. Bass is eager to meet students, their families, and the entire school community in the coming months.

We are delighted with this video to introduce you to Dr. Bass so that you can hear his thoughts about our mission and our future.  Though his tenure at DeLaSalle is just beginning, we are confident that Dr. Bass will provide exceptional leadership during this national period of uncertainty, enabling DeLaSalle to thrive for generations to come.

Live Jesus in our hearts … Forever!

Sincerely,
DeLaSalle Board of Trustees
