Financial Aid Applications Due Monday

Financial aid applications for the 2020-21 school year are due by Monday, February 24. DeLaSalle partners with Tuition Aid Data Services (TADS) to collect applications – and with the help of TADS’s financial analysis, DeLaSalle makes all financial aid decisions. Click here to learn more about financial aid.

DeLaSalle Families Qualify for K-12 Education Tax Subtraction and Credit
As you prepare your 2019 Minnesota income tax return, please make note of Minnesota’s K-12 Education Subtraction and Credit, which can lower the tax you must pay and may even provide a larger refund. You may read more about the two programs here

Returning families to DeLaSalle who need to know how much tuition they paid to DeLaSalle in tuition and registration in 2019 can access the information in TADS. Follow these step-by-step instructions to access the report. This report will also retrieve information about tuition paid to DeLaSalle in calendar year 2018 for families whose children attended De during the year.

  1. Log into TADS
  2. Click on the “Billing” tab
  3. Select “Your Billing Account”
  4. Once you are in Billing you will see “Reports” in the blue bar. Click on “Reports”
  5. Select “Household Paid Tuition Tax Report”
  6. Enter the year “2019”
  7. The report will appear
DeLaSalle Celebrates Social Justice Week February 24-28

Social Justice Week is an annual schoolwide celebration of Catholic Social Teaching, organized by the Lasallian Ministry office. This year’s theme is “Representation.” Students are invited to different lunch-and-learn activities to further explore the Holocaust as well as safe spaces. Maggie Haller ‘20 is also leading a community-wide collection of purses, feminine hygiene, and other care products for women in need throughout the Twin Cities. Students may donate items in their first hour class.

Join DeLaSalle Parents in Prayer on Tuesday

Join other DeLaSalle parents and friends in lifting up the De community in prayer. Parents in Prayer meets Tuesday, February 25, from 12:00-1:00pm, in the creative side of the Thies Lab (D207). Parents, family members, friends, and alumni are invited to participate in this monthly prayer session. We hope students, staff, families and friends at DeLaSalle will feel encouraged by the knowledge that people care about them, are excited for them and are PRAYING FOR THEM! You may submit prayer requests, which may remain anonymous, to prayer boxes located in the main office, Lasallian Ministry, or Theology classrooms.

Ash Wednesday Marks Start of Lent

The season of Lent begins at DeLaSalle on February 26 with an all-school Ash Wednesday Mass celebrated by school chaplain, Fr. Bruno Nwachukwu. During the Mass, students will receive ashes on their forehead. The 40 days of Lent in the Roman Catholic Church prepares Christians for Jesus’ death on the Cross on Good Friday and Resurrection on Easter Sunday. We will observe the practice of abstinence by serving meatless options in the cafe on Fridays during Lent.

Students May Dress Out of Uniform on Thursday

Students who purchase a wristband may dress out of uniform on Thursday, February 27. Wristbands will be sold during lunches before the out of uniform day and before school that morning. Students must follow the out of uniform guidelines in the Student-Parent Handbook. DeLaSalle shares a third of all out of uniform wristband sales with Mwangaaza College, a postsecondary Lasallian trade school in Kenya.

Sacrament of Reconciliation

Parent Association Meeting

Monday, March 9, 6:30-8:00pm

Join the Parent Association as we welcome Theology teacher and department chair, Keely Wojda, for a spirited discussion on encouraging our children’s faith lives. Before coming to teach at De, Keely was a Religious Education director for several years. She’s also a mother of five, including three college graduates, and she brings a broad perspective to help explain practical steps you can take to increase prayer and opportunities for your family to live your faith. All De parents are members of the Association by virtue of enrolling their son or daughter at De. As always, we’ll have good conversation and company.

Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences

Wednesday, March 11, 1:00-8:00pm

Parents and guardians of DeLaSalle students are invited to conference with teachers regarding their student’s academic progress. There are no classes on March 11. You do not need an appointment to conference with a teacher. As students and parents can benefit by hearing the same commendations and recommendations from teachers, we strongly suggest students and parents attend conferences and participate in these conversations together.

Spring Musical “Catch Me If You Can”

March 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, 28, 7:30pm, Friendshuh Stage, Florance Center

The award-winning DeLaSalle Theatre cast and crew present a classic Broadway show as its spring musical. “Catch Me If You Can” is a rousing musical set in the 1960s that tells the tale of Frank Abagnale Jr., an ingenious, yet lonely boy looking for his place in the world. Reserved tickets cost $15; general admission $10; non-DLS students and seniors $8; and free for De students with school ID.
