May the wisdom of God instruct us. May the eye of God watch over us. May the ear of God hear us. May the word of God inspire us. May the hand of God protect us. And may the way of God guide us. Amen

In the news…
For the past 27 years, DeLaSalle has spiritually adopted several families through Sponsor a Family Minnesota in addition to helping teenagers served by Sharing & Caring Hands and Avenues for Homeless Teens. These recipients have benefited greatly from our generous spirit; last year, students and staff collected over $5,000.
This year’s recipients include families through Sponsor A Family Minnesota as well as families from the Cheyenne River Reservation with whom DeLaSalle connected during a weeklong service project this summer. Thank you in advance for thinking about these families who may not be able to provide a Christmas for their children.
Donations are accepted through December 6 in 9th and 10th grade Theology classes or 11th and 12th grade English classes.
If you would like to go Christmas Shopping for our adopted families on Friday, December 6 from 3:15-5:30 p.m. please sign up. We will take a bus to Target at The Quarry.
Tomorrow, DeLaSalle students and staff will celebrate Mass in recognition of the Immaculate Conception, in which the Blessed Virgin Mary was conceived without original sin. DeLaSalle is celebrating the feast two days early this year because it falls on a Sunday. The Mass will also celebrate the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
To help students put the puzzle pieces together and approach the ACT with confidence, DeLaSalle is offering two optional prep classes for juniors. The classes will give students the opportunity to take 5 full ACTs and review their errors. During class, students will review topics tested on the exam and learn testing skills to improve their pacing and scores.
If you have any questions, please see Ms. McAdams
Ms. Stipkovits from the Guidance Office will go into 9th grade English classes during the weeks of December 2 and December 9 to help students interpret their ITED (Iowa test) scores and complete a career activity on Naviance. Naviance is a college preparation program that helps students connect academic achievement to post-secondary goals and assists with college and career planning.

More info: The Darst Center Urban Immersion is a workshop retreat that serves as a tool to explore issues of justice and the reality of oppression. Through partnerships with local agencies, retreat participants get to know people served by these agencies, challenge stereotypes, confront fears, and break down barriers. Daily communal prayer, meal preparation, recreational and educational sessions are designed to reflect on the work and observations conducted at agencies.
Examples of social agencies that will be used as the sites for the field experiences include: The Chicago Food Depository, Su Casa, The Port, San Miguel Schools, Chicago Youth Centers, St. Martin DePorres.
Participants will be awarded 18 Christian Service hours upon completion of the retreat.
The cost of the retreat is $260. A $60 non-refundable deposit is due December 10 and the final $200 payment will be due by January 15, 2019. See Ms. Stecklein if the cost is prohibitive.
