Thank you to the many families and students continue to encourage your neighbors, relatives, and colleagues to take a look at DeLaSalle. “Islanders are (indeed) Everywhere,” and we are welcoming prospective families and students from all corners of the Twin Cities.

On October 28, we welcomed 260 prospective students, accompanied by their families, to our first Open House for the year.  This was an incredible turnout and right in line with the large attendance in recent years.  Prospective family Interest is strong once again!  These families came to look at De from 78 different middle school backgrounds across the Twin Cities. The entire De teaching staff and over 80 student ambassadors were proud to share the mission, community, programming, curriculum, and goals of the school with future Islanders.  There will be a second Open House at De on January 8.

On October 30, we began our “Islander for a Day” student visit program, in which prospective students spend a day at DeLaSalle.  Student guests are paired with a current De student with similar interests to experience the daily routines of an Islander — seven classes plus lunch in a Catholic, Lasallian, historic, innovative, authentically diverse and college preparatory school. Over 110 students have signed up for visits in the first six days of the program, and over 175 families have already scheduled visits through the month of November.  Multiple requests are coming in every day.  Prospective students may sign up for a visit day here.

Many prospective parents are also scheduling individual parent/family tours of DeLaSalle during the school day by contacting Vice President for Enrollment, Mike O’Keefe, at 612-676-7679.

For many, the Open House is the first step toward meeting the “early decision” application deadline of February 14 for the Class of 2024.  By the deadline, prospective families must complete four steps: submitting  (1) an application, (2) at least one letter of recommendation from a teacher (three for merit scholarship consideration), and (3) middle school transcripts, as well as (4) take a national standardized Entrance Exam.   The Entrance Exam is scheduled at De on Saturday, January 11, concurrent with a broadly informative Parent Seminar for prospective parents in the class.
