Wow!  What a spectacular outpouring of support from our parents, alumni and friends on behalf of the students of DeLaSalle.  The October 12 Christian Brothers’ Gala, the only all-school fundraiser at De each year, raised over $500,000 in gross revenue.

We cannot thank our community enough!   Over 400 guests ventured to the island to enjoy each other’s company, have a good time, and join together for the best of causes, to help De reach its budgeted commitments in financial assistance and school operations for 2019-20.

These 400 guests partnered with over 175 student and parent volunteers to enjoy a night of entertainment, silent and live auctions, “Bids for Kids,” scrumptious food, and wonderful conversation with old and new friends.  The décor was exceptional, fully capturing the theme for the year, “An Enchanted Evening at DeLaSalle.”  The guests included alums as far back as the Class of 1938 and dozens of current parents, including many from the Class of 2024.  Eighty-six years of lived DeLaSalle history was captured among the attendees alone.

“The generosity of DeLaSalle’s supporters never fails to inspire us!” said DeLaSalle President Barry Lieske.  “Our benefactors offer a remarkable and lasting lesson in gratitude, service and kindness for our students.  It’s immensely gratifying that so many believe in our work and mission.  So many truly care about the students’ access to DeLaSalle.  Not only that, but they also want to ensure that these students have the tools for their personal and academic success.”

The Gala has become a fixture on the DeLaSalle calendar each October.  The event is staged after months of planning and attention to detail, under the direction of Gala coordinator (and current parent), Brenda Irvin, and the DeLaSalle Advancement Office staff.
