Families Invited to Back-to-School Night Wednesday

Please join us on Wednesday, September 4 for the annual Parent Back-to-School Night at De. This is a great opportunity to learn from teachers, mentors, and administrators of the academic expectations for each student this year.

We welcome parents to check in starting at 5:30pm. Our evening begins at 6:00pm in the Main Gym with a presentation by administrators about broad academic goals and practices for the year. Parents then meet with their son’s or daughter’s academic mentors for 20 minutes. The bulk of the evening is an opportunity for parents to walk through their son’s or daughter’s actual class schedule:

Parking is available in the main school parking lot. Overflow parking is available in the Nicollet Island Pavilion main parking and overflow lots (south of the Hennepin Avenue bridge).

Fall Sports Teams Will Take Pictures Wednesday

Students participating in a fall sport will have their team photo taken. Coaches will communicate with players how they can order team photos.

Reminder about Student Drop-off, Pick-up Procedures
Thank you for partnering with us to provide a safe environment for students, staff, and community members, who travel in, near, and around DeLaSalle. We ask you to note and follow these morning drop-off and afternoon pickup protocols.

Two dozen school buses and vehicles arrive at DeLaSalle each morning; these vehicles have the right-of-way on the drive in front of DeLaSalle. Parents/guardians arriving at school with their children should drop off on the curbside closest to school and NOT use the visitor parking spaces. Please note that following drop-off, vehicles should NOT travel back through the school parking lot and should exit via West Island Avenue.

In the afternoon, buses are the only vehicles allowed to pick up students on the drive in front of the school. The City of Minneapolis has installed “15-minute loading zone” street signs on West Island Avenue that will allow parents/guardians to temporarily wait along the curb closest to the school to pick up their children. Please be courteous to our Island neighbors and others who use the Island by pulling as close to the curb as possible to let other vehicles pass.

Students Can Sign Up for Activities

DeLaSalle encourages students to sign up to participate in an activity this year. Students should check their Islander Apps email for a link to sign up and may register for one or more activities. Click here to learn more about activities.at DeLaSalle.

School Closed Labor Day September 2

DeLaSalle will be closed on Monday, September 2, in observance of the federal Labor Day holiday. Classes resume on Tuesday, September 3.

Bruno Nwachukwu, will celebrate each Mass at nearby Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Class Masses occur for 12th grade on Tuesday, September 3; 11th grade on Sept. 10; 10th grade on Sept. 17; and 9th grade on September 24. Students should report to their first hour class and then will dismiss to the Florance Center for a grade level meeting before departing for Mass.
