Are You Ready for the 2019-20 School Year?

As we enter the final weeks of summer, we want to make sure all DeLaSalle students and families are well prepared for the start of the new school year. We have created this Back-to-School webpage that answers any questions you may have ahead of the first day of classes on Monday, August 26. Please reference this page – and if you continue to have questions, please contact the school at 612-676-7600. We are excited to begin our 120th year on Nicollet Island with you in our community!

Fall Sports Begin Monday, August 12

All fall sports will begin practicing for the first time this season on Monday, August 12. DeLaSalle offers fall sports in competition and sideline cheer, boys’ and girls’ cross country, football, boys’ and girls’ soccer, girls’ swimming and diving, girls’ tennis, and volleyball. Click here to find when and where teams will meet on the first day of practice.

A student must be fully registered with DeLaSalle for the 2019-20 school year before he or she can participate in a fall sport. This means the student must have all required back-to-school forms on file with the school and have registered for the sport. Students must also have a current physical on file with the Student Activities office before they can participate in any sport. Current is defined as within three years. The completed sport physical form can be turned in directly to the Student Activities office or may be emailed to activitiesoffice@delasalle.com

Join us as the DeLaSalle community gathers for the opening school year Mass on Friday, August 30 at 9:00am. Around DeLaSalle

Two dozen DeLaSalle students spent a week volunteering with the Cheyenne River Sioux tribe in Eagle Butte, South Dakota, during a service immersion trip offered through DeLaSalle Lasallian Ministry. Students supported local organizations including a Christian mission school and a summer youth program, putting on a daily children’s program, performing home repairs, and doing planting and gardening. Continued Prayers for Lucy Lyngen ’20, Jeremy Zavitz

As a community, we support and pray for each other at all times, particularly as our families are living with illness and loss. Recently we have received several inquiries about two families within our community. As many in the De community already know (and have been following via CaringBridge and personal connections), both Lucy Lyngen `20 and social studies teacher, Jeremy Zavitz are receiving treatment this summer for serious medical conditions. Lucy has been diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and Jeremy with a recurrence of a brain tumor. With each family’s permission, we share the following links to their sites, as a means of connecting the many who love and care for Lucy and Mr. Zavitz with their ongoing medical care. We pray for strength. We pray for their families and caregivers. We pray for healing.
