DeLaSalle Hosts Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences March 20
Parents and guardians of DeLaSalle students are invited to conference with teachers regarding their student’s academic progress during Parent-Student-Teacher conferences on Wednesday, March 20. Conferences are scheduled from 1:00-8:00pm. There are no classes on March 20. You do not need an appointment to conference with a teacher. As students and parents can benefit by hearing the same commendations and recommendations from teachers, we strongly suggest students and parents attend conferences and participate in these conversations together. Learn About College Admissions During March 20 Panel Discussion
Three college representatives will share the college view of the application and admission process during an informative panel discussion on Wednesday, March 20, from 5:30-6:30pm in D117. The panel discussion, organized by the Guidance office, is open to all DeLaSalle students and families and occurs during the spring Parent-Student-Teacher conferences. Find answers to all of your questions from people who work directly in admissions. The representatives LOVE your questions; please bring them all.
DeLaSalle Girls’ and Boys’ Basketball Playing for State Titles
Congratulations to the DeLaSalle girls’ and boys’ basketball programs, who each have enjoyed postseason success. The girls’ team has advanced to the Class AAA state championship game on Saturday, March 16, at 6:00pm, at Williams Arena at the University of Minnesota. The top-seeded Islanders will face #3 seed Becker. Tickets to the game cost $16 for adults and $10 for students. DeLaSalle will sell tickets March 16 from 4:00-5:00pm in the A Building lobby; tickets are also available for purchase at Williams Arena. Fan buses to the game will leave from DeLaSalle starting at 5:00pm. And the school will host a Welcome Home celebration for the team in the Main Gym immediately following the game.

Meanwhile, the boys’ basketball team clinched the Section 6AAA championship March 14 with a 78-63 win over Waconia. The Minnesota State High School League will release seeding for the tournament over the weekend. DeLaSalle will play in the Class AAA quarterfinal on Wednesday, March 20, at Williams Arena. You can follow coverage of the tournament, including opponents, game time, and other logistics, on the Take State webpage.

Islanders Compete March 18 at Regional History Day
Good luck to the 70 DeLaSalle students who, as individuals or in groups, are advancing 37 projects to the Metro Senior High Regional History Day competition on Monday, March 18 at Augsburg College. Projects will be judged and could advance to the 2019 Minnesota State History Day on May 4. Because the projects were so strong, the Minnesota Historical Society graciously allowed DeLaSalle to add more projects to the list originally entered in the regional competition. Click here to see the updated list. History Day is an annual project in the 11th grade Social Studies curriculum that gives juniors an opportunity to become expert historians by selecting and researching a topic of their choice around a national theme, which this year is “Triumph and Tragedy in History.”
“Disney’s Newsies” Spring Musical Continues This Weekend, Next
Performances of DeLaSalle Theatre’s spring musical “Disney’s Newsies” continue this weekend and next. Shows are March 15, 16, 22, and 23, at 7:30pm, on the Friendshuh Stage in the Florance Center.
