Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.

As our feasting on this Fat Tuesday fills us with gratitude
so may our fasting and abstinence this Lent hollow out in us
a place for deeper desires
and an attentiveness to hear the cry of the poor.
May our self-denial turn our hearts to you
and give us a new freedom for
generous service to others. Amen

Saint John Baptist de La Salle…pray for us.

Live Jesus in our hearts…forever!

In today’s news…

Ash Wednesday is tomorrow and it  marks the beginning of Lent, the period of 40 days leading to Christ’s death on Good Friday and Resurrection on Easter Sunday. DeLaSalle will begin the Lenten season with a school Mass celebrated by school chaplain, Fr. Bruno Nwachukwu. Fr. Bruno will also celebrate Mass with the DeLaSalle community before school on Tuesdays in March (March 12, 19, and 26). Mass will be celebrated at 8:00am in the school chapel, located on the second floor of Christian Brothers’ Hall above the Lasallian Ministry office.

Students in each grade level will gather once this month for the Sacrament of Reconciliation at St. Boniface Catholic Church in northeast Minneapolis. Students who are not Catholic may also meet with a priest if they wish. Theology teachers will help prepare students in classes ahead of their grade level gathering. Twelfth grade students will be the first to participate this Thursday. After first period, students should put their books and belongings in their locker, pick up their coat, and meet in the Florance Center.
