Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.

Dear Lord, We pray for those who leave their homes in search of new beginnings and possibilities, may they know your presence with them. Amen

Saint John Baptist de La Salle…pray for us.

Live Jesus in our hearts…forever!

On today’s calendar…

In today’s news…

This week, our school community is commemorating our annual Social Justice Week.  Our theme this year is Immigration: Seeing God Through Every Person. The activities this week will explore our role in society and our call to treat all people with dignity and respect. The activities and programs planned this week are based on the principles of Catholic Social Teaching, and additional resources about this topic can be found on the website of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Lasallian Ministry is hosting an after school movie tonight at 3:15pm in Room D117. We will be watching the movie Under the Same Moon, and all are welcome to attend. Beverages and popcorn will be provided by Student Council.

Students may purchase a wristband before school today for the privilege to dress out of uniform. Students must follow the out of uniform guidelines in the Student-Parent Handbook. DeLaSalle shares a portion of out of uniform wristband sales proceeds with Mwangaza College, our twin school in Kenya.

Students who are not involved in an after school activity should leave campus immediately after school on Thursday because DeLaSalle is hosting the Tri-Metro Conference Speech tournament. The B and D buildings will be off limits, and students will not be able to use those buildings or locations including D104, D117, the library, and the Thies Lab, which will close immediately after school. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

The Speech team is looking for 8 students to help with the Speech match on Thursday, February 28 from 3:15pm to 7:30pm (4.25 hours) right here at De.
Volunteer Jobs include:

  • Working in judge’s lounge

Please join us on Friday, from 3:15-5:00pm in the Thies Lab to share, listen and celebrate the beauty of creative expression as we close out Social Justice Week together. The event is hosted by The Move and Diana Truong (’20) to celebrate poetry, prose and writing at DeLaSalle. Bring friends and your own writing to share.

All are welcome to come to our lunchtime LEAP meeting where we welcome Greg Eaton from Friends of Dorothy Day Catholic Worker as part of our Social Justice Week activities. Bring your lunch to the Theis Lab Creative side.

On Thursday and Friday, during the last 20 minutes of lunch time students who stop by the supervisors table to pick up a pass may come to the gym to play badminton. It will be limited to 20 students per lunch period.
