Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.

Saint Lucy, your beautiful name signifies light. By the light of faith which God bestowed upon you, increase and preserve this light in my soul so that I may avoid evil, be zealous in the performance of good works, and abhor nothing so much as the blindness and the darkness of evil and of sin.

By your intercession with God, obtain for me perfect vision for my bodily eyes and the grace to use them for God’s greater honor and glory and the salvation of all men. Saint Lucy, virgin and martyr, hear my prayers and obtain my petitions. Amen.

Saint John Baptist de La Salle…pray for us.

Live Jesus in our hearts…forever!

In today’s news…

DeLaSalle will celebrate Christmas with a liturgy and program today, following the first class period. Scripture, prayer, and song (and a visit from Santa) will help the Islander community reflect on the birth of Christ. DeLaSalle President Barry Lieske will also provide his annual Christmas reflection.

Come play Kin-ball 4 square in the LL Gray Gym the last 20 minutes of lunch. Stop by the supervisors table to pick up a pass. Limited to 36 people.

Mr. Homan (Teacher-A210) and Miles Camery (Artistic Director) are creating a creative writing “zine.” A zine is a low-budget, do-it-yourself type of publication perfect for creative writing.

We are seeking poems, short stories, creative essays, drawings, etc. Submission due date: December 19th

Here’s an example of one poem that has already been submitted:

the world turns
every blink,
don’t blink
stop time
get lost and find love
explore what you do not know
dissect what you do
intertwine while
tearing back the layers

Science club will not meet until after winter break!

Join us for an end of the semester LEAP Christmas Party! This Friday, Dec. 14th in the Theis Lab during all lunches. Cookies, hot cocoa, movie and more! Hope to see you there!

The DeLaSalle Parents in Prayer group will spend the lunch hour on Monday offering up prayers for the DeLaSalle community. The group will meet from 12:00-1:00pm in D207, the creative side of the Thies Lab. The group of De parents and family members gathers on campus once a month to lift up our community in prayer. All parents, family members, friends, and alumni are welcome to participate. We hope students, staff, families and friends at DeLaSalle will feel encouraged by the knowledge that people care about them, are excited for them and are PRAYING FOR THEM! You may submit prayer requests, which may remain anonymous, to prayer boxes located in the main office, Lasallian Ministry, or Theology classrooms.

Thank you to those who brought a photograph of their loved ones from home to contribute to our Ofrenda table. If you have not picked up your photo yet, please see Mr. Rogers in the Learning Center (D-105). Thank you!
