Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.

O God,
Open our eyes that we may see the needs of others;
Open our ears that we may hear their cries;
Open our hearts that we may feel their anguish and their joy.
Let us not be afraid to defend the oppressed, the poor, the powerless,
because of the anger and might of the powerful.
Show us where love and hope and faith are needed, and use us to bring them to those places.
Open our ears and eyes, our hearts and lives, that we may in these coming days be able to do some work of justice and peace for you. Amen.

Saint John Baptist de La Salle…pray for us.

Live Jesus in our hearts…forever!

DeLaSalle will observe the feast of All Saints’ Day with a school Mass on Thursday, November 1, following the first period class, in the Florance Center. School chaplain, Fr. Bruno Nwachukwu, will celebrate the Mass. The Mass will incorporate a traditional Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) ritual, as Lasallian Ministry has invited students and community members to bring a framed photo of a loved one who has passed away to be included in an ofrenda table. After the Mass, the photos will be moved to the display case on the second floor of the B building for the month of November. Students in Art and Spanish classes will also contribute to the Mass by providing colorful Dia de Los Muertos decorations in the Florance Center.

Attention Students: Give back to your school community by participating in DeLaSalle’s Day of Giving. Helping the school raise money for student scholarships, campus projects, and school programs is an important part of being an Islander. You may donate online or bring your money into school. There will be tables and donation boxes set up inside both entrances on Thursday. If students can raise at least $500, then EVERYONE will get a free dessert on Friday! Bring $1 or bring $10. Every dollar helps and brings us closer to ice cream cookie sandwiches!

Want to join a fun winter activity? Audition for Speech! Thursday, November 1st after school in the Schulz Lab (North side, by the blue wall). Bring something to read/perform, or use one of ours! You may design the ads yourself or have the yearbook staff design them. Please send photos and text you may want in your ad to yearbook@delasalle.com and a proof will be emailed to you to approve.

Parent Senior Ads are due by November 30. Any order received after November 30th will be accepted based on availability and subject to a 10% late fee.
