Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.

Almighty God, you have given all peoples one common origin, and your will is to gather us as one family in yourself. Fill our hearts with the fire of your love and the desire to ensure justice for all our sisters and brothers. By sharing the good things you give us, may we secure justice and equality for every human being, and a human society built on love and peace, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Saint John Baptist de La Salle…pray for us.

Live Jesus in our hearts…forever!

On today’s calendar…

Schedule subject to change, please check the Activities Calendar for updates.

  • 4:00pm: Girls’ JV tennis @ Spring Lake Park

All college visits take place in the Guidance office B102, unless otherwise noted. In order to meet with a college rep, you must register for the visit through your Naviance account and notify your teacher at least one day before the visit. You may show your teacher your iPad with the registration on Naviance as your pass. Remember, you are responsible for any work you miss during your visit with the college rep.  The Guidance office will give students passes back to class if the visit does not take the whole period.

  • Northern Arizona University: 10:15am – 11:15am

  • Pomona College: 12:30pm – 1:30pm

In today’s news…

Homecoming is a chance for us to celebrate our tradition and history at DeLaSalle and acknowledge the thousands of alumni who have come before us.

  • Today’s Out of Uniform: Pajama Day
Show up like you just rolled out of bed. Throw on your favorite pajamas, slippers, or bathrobe and head to class!
  • Tomorrow’s Out of Uniform: Fan/Jersey Day
Wear your favorite jersey or fan apparel as you represent your favorite team!

Click here to find more Homecoming Week information.

You can now vote for the Homecoming royalty. Check your email for a link to vote for four young men and four young women from your class. Voting closes at the end of lunches today. We will see who will win the red rose next Friday at the Homecoming Pepfest.

Lifetouch photographers will be back on campus Tuesday for students who wish to have their school photo retaken or who were absent on the first School Picture Day August 23. Because they may dress out of uniform for Homecoming on September 25, students are reminded to bring a school uniform shirt for the picture.

David Bank Studios will be on campus on Wednesday to take senior portraits for free that will be used in the yearbook and on the wall composite. They will be in the Thies Lab during lunches. Please bring a top to change into if you do not wish to wear your Out of Uniform top.

Junior and senior girls can sign up now for the Homecoming powderpuff football game, which will be on Friday, September 28 from 5:00-7:00pm at DeLaSalle. You can find the signup sheet outside the Student Activities office. Signups close after school Thursday. Players should also watch their emails for information on practices and any other information from their coaches. Email Hannah Omodt with questions.

If you are interested in bringing a non-DeLaSalle student to the Homecoming dance on Saturday, September 29, you must fill out and turn in a completed guest form to the attendance office by Wednesday, September 26. Guest forms can be found in the attendance office.

Lasallian Ministry is looking for creative students to help us design a logo that represents all of the programs and events that we do throughout the year.

Your logo can include the following suggested aspects, but feel free to put your own creative spin on your design.

  • A globe and a star
  • Multiple hands reaching towards the globe representing different races
  • Other peace symbols
  • The words Lasallian Ministry written in the logo

Submit your design via email to Mr. Rogers by Tuesday, October 9, and the winning logo will receive a $10 Chipotle gift card.

Families must apply each year for their child to be considered for free and reduced lunch benefits. The application is available here. Students who were approved for benefits at DeLaSalle in 2017-18 will have a carryover until October 1. Students without an approved 2018-19 application on file by October 1 will pay full price for food items.

On Friday, the DeLaSalle community is invited to buy a donut before school for $2 in a fundraiser that supports the boys’ soccer program.

The Parent Association once again will sponsor De “Parents in Prayer,” a group of DeLaSalle parents and family members who will gather on campus once a month to lift up our community in prayer. Please join us at our first gathering of the school year. We will meet Friday, September 28 from 12:30-1:30pm in the creative side of the Thies Lab (D207). Come during your lunch hour if you can make it. We hope students, staff, families and friends at DeLaSalle will feel encouraged by the knowledge that people care about them, are excited for them and are PRAYING FOR THEM! All parents, family members, friends, and alumni are welcome to participate.

All are welcome to join us in the Chapel (Christian Brothers Hall) for the following prayer opportunities:

  • Monday Morning Prayer – Mondays at 7:45am
  • Pray the Rosary – Wednesdays at 3:15pm
  • After school Mass with Fr. Brunoon – Tuesday afternoons at 3:15pm on Oct. 9, 16, & 23.

Hope to see you there!
