Class Masses Begin Tuesday, September 4

In addition to all-school liturgies, students in each grade will gather as a class this fall to celebrate Mass. School chaplain, Fr. Bruno Nwachukwu, will celebrate each Mass at nearby Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Class Masses occur for 12th grade on Tuesday, September 4 ; 11th grade on Sept. 11; 10th grade on Sept. 18; and 9th grade on October 2. Students should report to their first hour class and then will dismiss to the Florance Center for a grade level meeting before departing for Mass.

Follow Your Child’s Academic Progress with Canvas Observer

At Back-to-School NIght this week, teachers showed parents how they structure their courses through Canvas and how parents can track their child’s grade, coursework, and calendar. Parents can follow these steps to create a Canvas Observer account.

Construction Leads to Lane, Metro Transit Bus Stop Closures

Hennepin County is in the final stages of a road maintenance project that has likely impacted how you arrive and leave DeLaSalle. County officials will start the last phase of their project to preserve the road surface on 1st Avenue and East Hennepin Avenue on Wednesday, September 5. During this final stage, please note the following impacts:

  • Drivers will be able to turn right in and out of DeLaSalle Drive to access the school.
  • At least one lane of traffic on both 1st Avenue and East Hennepin Avenue will be kept open.
  • The Metro Transit bus stop in front of DeLaSalle will be closed during the construction. Students who ride Metro Transit buses to DeLaSalle on routes 4, 6, 11, 61, and 141 may exit at the stop on 1st Avenue at 2nd Street NE or at the stop on 1st Avenue at 1st Street S (by the Federal Reserve Bank) and walk across the bridge to DeLaSalle. Transit riders should factor the extra walking time into their commute and plan accordingly.

The project is scheduled to conclude by Friday, September 21, depending upon weather.

Parent Association Invites All to September 10 Meeting

The Parent Association invites all DeLaSalle parents and guardians to help kick off the new school year! The first Parent Association meeting is Monday, September 10, from 6:30-8:00pm in the Schulze Lab (D104). Monthly meetings, held the 2nd Monday of each month, offer plenty of time to get to know other De parents, hear important school updates, and help support the entire De community. During the first meeting, you can learn more about the different activities that Parent Association has planned throughout the year. And, Mr. Brad Casey will present about the Global Advantage Program and how students and families can get involved.

School Closed September 3 for Labor Day

DeLaSalle will be closed and there will be no classes in observance of the Labor Day holiday.
