In today’s news…

  • Senior Final Exams: Seniors will complete final exams and assessments Thursday and Friday. Final assessments are scheduled in periods 1-4 on Thursday and periods 5-8 on Friday. Seniors are excused from periods 1-4 on Friday.
  • Senior iPads: Seniors will return their iPads on Friday, after their last final. Seniors, you will find the iPad Collection Checklist in the Islanders Course under Technology in Canvas. Please print out a copy and bring it with you to iPad Collection on Friday in D104.
  • Senior Locker Clean-out: Seniors should begin cleaning out their lockers in preparation for the official locker clean-out on Thursday during 7th period. Please use trash and recycling bins located throughout the building. There is a box in the main office for anyone who would like to donate school supplies or locker decorations to students in need. Any senior who does not clean-out their locker by the end of the day on Thursday will need to complete additional work service hours.
  • Senior Uniform Donation Drop-Off:The Deans Office would like to invite graduating seniors to donate gently used and clean uniform items they no longer need. Items can be dropped in the main office at any time – there is no deadline for donations. Future Islanders thank you!

Seniors, please send the names of scholarships you received from your attending school or from outside sources, to Barbara McAdams no later than Wednesday, May 16 at 3:00pm (in order to be included in the Graduation Program).

Sales start Wednesday for the Metro Transit Student Summer Pass, which provides students with unlimited rides on buses or light rail this summer. Passes cost $29 and are valid June 1-September 4 from 5:00am-10:00pm. It’s perfect for summer jobs, sports leagues and all the other fun that summer brings. Click here for more about how to buy a pass. All you need to purchase a pass is the school name (DeLaSalle) and the student ID. If you’d rather use cash, you can buy a Summer Student Pass at a Metro Transit Service Center. Join the Ultimate Frisbee Club by signing up at the Activity Office this week or next, or just by showing up! This club will not be for a league, but rather recreational. We will meet in the Gym on Wednesdays at 3:15 until 4:00/4:30 for the rest of this year and then go to Boom Island to play a pick-up game. Ms. Barry will be the moderator for this club and it should be a ton of fun. If your interested, please put your name and email (just the first part of your email will be fine) on the sign up sheet on the Activity Office door. (You also could just show up, but try to sign up if you can). The next game is Wednesday.

The end of the school year is near, so let’s celebrate! Current DeLaSalle students are invited to an end-of-year party and yearbook signing on Friday, from 5:00-8:00pm on Christian Brothers’ Plaza and LL Gray Gym. Big Bell ice cream truck will be on site with treats available for purchase. We will be grilling as well, compliments of the Student Council. Students who bought a yearbook may pick up their copy. Students can also show off their karaoke skills, play lawn games, or even dunk their classmates or favorite teacher in a dunk tank.

Come hear a free concert of Sr. Duea’s musical compositions on Monday, May 21st, at 7:00pm in the band room. The concert will be about 1 hour and 10 minutes long and includes Sr. Duea on piano, Mr. Englund on Cello, Isaace Blaine-Sauer on violin, and Mr. Dirlam on saxophones. There will also be a surprise special guest.

On Wednesday, May 23, the evening before graduation, we will gather for our Baccalaureate Mass, Senior Awards, and Reception at 6:30 p.m. in the Main Gym.  Seniors are asked to arrive by 6:15 and report to the LL Gray Gym to line up for the processional.

Volunteer to help at the Lundstrum Performing Arts Gala.

  • Where: Lundstrum Performing Arts- 1617 N 2nd St, Minneapolis, MN 55411
  • Parking: Free in two surrounding lots and on the streets surrounding Lundstrum
  • Time of Volunteers needed: 5:00-8:30 or 5:00-10:00 pm Volunteer Duties will include: Food service and bussing, greeting and escorting guests, assisting with event logistics.
  • Time of Event: 6:00-10:00pm
  • Other things to know: Please wear black pants and a white shirt with no writing. Dinner will be provided.
