Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.

Lord of the flowers and the birds of the air, let us always give praise and honor, joy and thanksgiving to You for all Your gifts. Hear our prayers and answer them as You know best for us. Amen

In today’s news…

Come to the Thies Creative Lab D207 today after school to see our 3 Technovation Teams present on the apps they have built.

When: Today at 3:10-3:45pm
Where: Thies Creative Room D207
What: Three teams of girls in our Technovation club will run through their Pitch Presentations about the apps they built. Each presentation will last about 10 min.

1. Team Comida Club & Co

  • App: Understudy - a scheduling app connecting students and tutors, designed to facilitate communication and support our current NHS tutoring program.

2. Team Shazam

  • App: Ello!- a scenario based web safety app aimed at young women using social media.

3. Team Exchange

  • App: Student Helper- an app created to help new students, specifically international students coming to DeLaSalle. The goal is to help reduce confusion and alleviate the stress of a new school and education system. Team members will be available afterwards for questions and demonstrations of their apps. We ask that you help them by providing presentation feedback to help them better prepare for the Appapalooza this Saturday May 12th at the Convention Center against 300 other girls on more than 80 teams. Last Monday the girls had an opportunity to present at the U.S. Bank headquarters, here is a link to the KARE11 report.

Congratulations to the 2018-19 Student Council Executive Board:

  • President/Vice President: Julia Brand and Aidan Scott

During AP testing counselors are proctoring tests and not in the office space. Students wishing to access the counseling office are required to arrive with a pass and a specific task to work on that they need assistance with. There will be one counselor available to assist students who are in crisis.

Jared Clapper, a math and science tutor who has helped students in the Florance Center three days a week before school, will not be available for the rest of the school year. Students in need of tutoring may work with a National Honor Society tutor. Please contact Ms. Wojda to arrange a tutor.

DeLaSalle invites students enrolled in the Class of 2022 and their parents to join us for a Welcome Party on Saturday, May 12. Students will dance to a DJ, participate in Mardi Gras games and group activities where they will meet new kids, or just enjoy the atmosphere of your new school. Admission is free – and we’ll have pizza and pop for everybody. By the end of the night, you’ll have a lot of new friends! Parents, we don’t want you to miss out on the fun either. While your child is having fun meeting his or her new classmates, you can meet other parents during the “Meet and Greet with Treats” for parents of the Class of 2022. Current parents and some graduating seniors will serve as hosts and share good conversation about DeLaSalle from a parent’s or student’s view. This event is hosted by the DeLaSalle Parent Association and has been extremely valuable for new parents to DeLaSalle. Please watch your email inbox for a party invitation and more details.
