Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Saint John Baptist de La Salle…pray for us.

Live Jesus in our hearts…forever!

DeLaSalle has rescheduled the postponed April 14 ACT exam for Saturday, April 21. Registered students may arrive at DeLaSalle and begin checking in at 7:30am. Testing will begin at 8:00am and conclude by about 12:30pm. Click here for more information about rescheduled ACT exams.

Today, this Parent Association sponsored group will meet to lift up the school community in prayer from 1:45-2:45pm in the Florance Center. All parents are welcome. Students, staff, and families may place prayer requests in prayer boxes in the Lasallian Ministry office, Main Office, or Theology classroom. Prayer requests may remain anonymous.

Sign up now for an all-school big base tournament after school on Friday, April 27. You can sign up this week outside the Student Activities office. There are only 15-20 spots per grade, so sign up as soon as you can. Students who signed up will receive an email with more details about the event. Please contact Jake Brouillard and Brady Thompson with questions.

Students may dress out of uniform if they purchase a wristband, which will be sold for $1 Monday from from 3:15-4:00pm or for $2 before school Tuesday. This out of uniform day makes up for a previously scheduled day that was postponed. Students must follow out of uniform guidelines identified in the Student-Parent Handbook. DeLaSalle shares a portion of out of uniform wristband sales proceeds with Mwangaza College, our twin school in Kenya.

Dear Islanders,

One of the Technovation teams at DeLaSalle is in the process of creating an app that would organize the current National Honor Society tutoring system. Team members would greatly appreciate it if you could take this survey that would provide input and allow you to voice any issues you have with the current system.

Sincerely,

DeLaSalle Technovation Team

Pick up a nomination form from the Main Office or Mr. Sczepanski’s room, if you want to run for a position on the student council executive board! The nomination packet must be returned to Mr. Sczepanski by Thursday. The election will take place after a round of stump speeches from Presidential candidates, during lunches on May 4th. Best of luck to all candidates!

The Onyx Step Team will be competing at the 3rd Annual Soul Stepping Scholars Stomp Down.

When: SATURDAY, APRIL 21

Where: Patrick Henry High School

Time: 3:00pm (doors open at 2:30pm)

Tickets are available with Ms. Luckett for $8.00 in advance by Friday, April 21st, or $10.00 at the door, however, the show tends to sell out! We can accept cash and checks made payable to: 2 Soul Stepping Scholars. Please e-mail jessica.luckett@delasalle.com if you’d like to reserve a ticket.

Onyx will be fighting hard for a win this year with their routine, The Onyx CREED: Step into the Ring! This year’s routine is based of the movie CREED, a spinoff of the Rocky series starting Silvester Stilone and Michael B. Jordan as Creed, Apollo’s son.
The more people in the audience to root for us, the better chances we have! We need that Islander support!

Check out the promo video for the competition!

This is traditionally the weekend each spring where we’d team up to clean up DeLaSalle and Nicollet Island. But…with all this snow (which will turn to mud and muck as it melts), we’ve decided not to hold the Island Cleanup this spring. Instead, we encourage you to help make your place on Earth a little cleaner. You can follow these ideas here or pitch in to help the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board at one of their cleanup events here. Also, this Saturday is the Earty Day 5K Bee Run, Walk and River Cleanup. Registration opens at 7:30am. The fun run/walk starts at 9:00am. The river cleanup is from 9:30am-12:00pm and bags and gloves will be provided. Click here to register. Visit the Great River Coalition website, for more information.

Help the DeLaSalle Parent Association celebrate our terrific staff on the annual Staff Appreciation Day! All teachers, administrators, and support staff are recognized on this day. Plans call for a Welcome and Continental Breakfast for the staff when they arrive for the day, as well as a tasty lunch. Each staff member also receives a thank you gift. A committee of current parents — including Parent Association co-chairs, Jackie Schluter Johnson and Luann Mishler, –has been organizing the event. Now, we extend a call for other parents to help with the event.

TO VOLUNTEER OR DONATE: Click here to access an online form where you can indicate how you may wish to volunteer or contribute to the day. Many parents enjoy spending part of the day with each other – and all for a good cause! If you have questions, please contact Parent Association co-chairs, Jackie Schluter Johnson or Luann Mishler. If you prefer to make a cash donation toward the cost of meals and treats for the staff, please send your donation to Parent Association staff liaison, Mike O’Keefe, at DeLaSalle.
