In today’s news…

The boys’ basketball team plays Orono in the section final tonight at 7:00pm at Chanhassen High School. There will be a fan bus to the game, but you must sign up here before 1:30pm today to ride the bus. Tickets for Tonight’s game cost $7 for adults and $5 for students.

The girls’ basketball team will play in a 2pm consolation game against Alexandria Area High School at Concordia University.

Want to work on your cardio a bit? Join Brother Ryan on his morning jog around the island – Thursdays at 7:15am. Wear weather appropriate clothes, and meet by the buses on Grove Street starting this Thursday, March 15. ALL are welcome, Students, Faculty, Staff. Hope to see you there this week!

The TableTop Games Club will play Sheriff of Nottingham, an exciting game of bluffing, bribery, and smuggling. Meet at 3:10pm in B307. Come and have fun!

Mr. C will have a short informational meeting on Monday, March 19 for those who want to become CPR/AED certified. Meet in the south side of D104 at the beginning of your lunch hour. The meeting will only take about 5 minutes.

Congratulations to the DeLaSalle Speech Team, which took third place in the Tri-Metro Conference meet last week. Three Islanders earned All Conference champion – Sam Mishler ‘18 in Discussion (his third straight conference title), Sophie Liang ‘18 in Prose, and Grace DeRoche ‘20 in Informative. Adaire Criner ‘19, Saul Maldonado ‘18, and Jennifer Yeung ‘18 all finished as All Conference runner up.

Immaculate Conception Church and School is hosting a youth gathering for high school students on St. Patrick’s Day (Saturday, March 17 from 9:00am-noon). Join the staff of St. Paul Street Evangelization to learn how to evangelize in your everyday life in easy and fun ways. The gathering costs $5 and you can register online here. Applications are now available for driver’s education classes, which will be offered in April, June, and late July/early August. Classes are limited to the first 25 students who register with a $200 down payment. Click here for class dates and applications.

DeLaSalle Theatre continues to present its spring musical “Les Miserables”. Performances are this Friday and Saturday, and again March 23 and 24, at 7:30pm in the Florance Center. Although reserved seating for all shows is sold out, general admission tickets are available at the door. General admission costs $10, students and seniors pay $8, and the play is free for DeLaSalle students with school ID.

The production features the timeless story of Jean Valjean, a former convict, who spends a lifetime seeking redemption, set against the backdrop of 19th century France and the aftermath of the French Revolution.
