Student Council is hosting the uniform day Today. Buy your wristband for $2 before school Today. Please remember the out of uniform guidelines in the Student-Parent Handbook. They include “no yoga pants, halter tops, tank tops, or bare midriffs; no sunglasses; and only knee length shorts and skits will be permitted.”
LEAP (Lasallians for Equity and Peace) are sponsoring another movie night T at the St. Anthony Main Theater. We will walk to the theater at 3:15 for a 4:00 showing. Tickets are $6.00. Sign up here.
The Punch Pizza on Hennepin Avenue by DeLaSalle is offering a 50 percent discount on any pizza or salad through Friday. Simply show your school ID to get the discount.
Students interested in trying out for a spring sport are encouraged to sign up via an e-mail from the Student Activities office. The deadline for students to register is Friday, February 23. As a reminder, students must have a Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Eligibility form and a current physical (within the last three years) on file with the Student Activities office.
Current 11th grade students can now apply for a student exchange this fall through DeLaSalle’s Global Advantage program. Students received an email last week with a link to the application; which, along with at least two recommendations, are due by Friday, March 2. The next meeting for L.E.A.P. will be based on mental health awareness. We will be addressing and discussing the stigmas around mental health and its impact on everyday lives. All are invited to attend on Thursday, during your lunch hour. We hope that you can come!
Feed My Starving Children is hosting a mobile packing event for a local parish. We would like to take a group on Thursday, from 5-7 pm. Please sign up with this link if you are interested in going.

The Parent Association sponsored group Parents in Prayer will meet in the Florance Center this Friday to lift up the school community in prayer. All parents are welcome to join between 1:45-2:45pm. Students, staff, and families may place prayer requests in prayer boxes in the Lasallian Ministry office, Main Office, or Theology classroom. Prayer requests may remain anonymous.
DeLaSalle Theatre presents its spring musical “Les Miserables” over three weekends in March. The production features the timeless story of Jean Valjean, a former convict, who spends a lifetime seeking redemption, set against the backdrop of 19th century France and the aftermath of the French Revolution.
Performances are March 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, and 24, at 7:30pm in the Florance Center. Reserved seating is $15, general admission is $10, students and seniors pay $8, and the play is free for DeLaSalle students with school ID.

Students in grades 9, 10, and 11 – you must register for your 2018-19 classes by this Friday. You should look for an email you received with the registration link. Students and parents may consult the 2018-19 curriculum guide here to view graduation requirements and course descriptions by academic department. We’re excited to announce several new courses, including two offerings in AP computer programming, an Honors Theology course, a science course taught in collaboration with a Lasallian high school in Spain, and Explore-Impact, a practicum opportunity for college-bound seniors. All of us at DeLaSalle appreciate the sacrifice that you make to send your children sons and daughters to our school. We know we must be good stewards. Support from our generous alumni and friends allows for a tuition that is considerably less than the actual cost of educating each student. We also remain committed to support slightly over half of our families with the largest per capita financial aid program of any private high school in Minnesota in 2018-19.

On February 28th and March 1st, Ms. Stipkovits will be working with 10th grade English classes to complete “Do What You Are” on Naviance. It’s a personality assessment combined with career exploration.
Each year, the DeLaSalle Alumni Association selects junior students to receive an Alumni Legacy Scholarship. This year, you may also be considered for the Hinz Award – an award created in honor of Wally Hinz’ 60 after his passing in 2017. The Hinz Award is open to ALL junior students and evaluates academic performance, community involvement, leadership and Islander Spirit. This is a spirit which Wally exuded throughout his life as an active member and advocate of the DeLaSalle Community – in particular with his leadership in DeLaSalle’s Alumni Association.
The applicant must meet the following criteria to be considered:
1. Must be a Junior graduating in the Class of 2019
2. Must be enrolled for the Fall 2018 Semester
3. Legacy applicants must have had at least one relative that is an alum of DeLaSalle, MN
4. Must have a Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
