Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.

Let us pause and ponder the greatness of our God as we look into the eyes of one another, as we look upon the sun, the moon, and the stars, as we behold the magnificence and beauty of nature. Our God is the God of Wonder and Awe and He fills us with His life and presence. Glory and praise to You, Lord God of Creation.

Saint John Baptist de La Salle…pray for us.

Live Jesus in our hearts…forever!

Students that are participating as readers in the liturgy should arrive by 8:00 a.m. to the Florance Center for practice and check in. Band and orchestra students should be dismissed at 8:50 to prepare for prayer.

There will be no morning prayer this Thursday due to the Christmas Prayer Service.

The parent informational meeting for the 2017-2018 Speech season will be Today, from 5-6pm in room D117. Please Plan to attend with your parent(s)/guardian.

National Honor Society members will be providing tutoring from now until Tuesday, December 19. Tutors will be available to help Tuesday/Thursday after school for the following subjects in the rooms indicated: English (A211), Geometry (A106), Theology (B211), and Biology (B309). There will also be tutors available for most subjects before school (starting at 8:05) in the LTC and the Florance Center. Check in with the teachers who supervise those locations to ask if a tutor is available.

Now that winter is upon us students should review several winter-related uniform expectations:

  1. For warmth students should wear a uniform sweater or sweatshirt.
  2. Students may not wear a long-sleeved shirt under a short-sleeved uniform shirt.
  3. Coats and jackets, gloves, scarves, and any other outdoor attire is not permitted during the school day. This applies to DeLaSalle spirit and team apparel unless otherwise directed by staff. Items must be kept in the student’s locker.
  4. Pants, shirts, shorts and skirts should not be rolled at the cuff, sleeve or waist. Skirts should reach the top of the knee – no more than 2” above the knee.
  5. Shoes, including laces, and socks must be predominately black, brown, white, gray, or a mix of these colors. Additionally, students should be aware of food and drink expectations:
  6. Unless special permission is granted, food and drink may not be brought into classrooms; however, individual teachers may permit water in clear bottles in the classroom.

As the end of the semester approaches please take time to check the Lost and Found in the Dean’s Office B-209 for your missing personal items. All unclaimed items will be donated at the end of the semester.

Meet 3 is Monday, 12/18. We will be here at De. Because some schools will already be on break, we will not all gather together; this means we can overlap events and complete the meet by about 4:10. Practices will be Tue-Fri this week after school. The League has sent some some resources, so be sure to come by.

DeLaSalle students are invited to travel to Chicago for a weekend retreat focused on Social Justice and advocacy. The dates are January 19-21, 2018 If you are interested in participating, please indicate your interest by complete this on-line form. Christian Service Hours are awarded. Space is limited so, sign up now. More information on the trip is found on the form.

De Parents in Prayer invites DeLaSalle parents and family members to its next prayer meeting, which has been rescheduled from December 15 to Monday, December 18, from 1:45-2:45pm in the Florance Center. The group gathers together once a month to pray over the requests and praises of the DeLaSalle community. This is a very welcoming experience where blessings are not only given, but also received. We hope to see you there. Contact Jackie Schluter Johnson with questions.
