Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.

God who dispels all darkness,
Come to be with us, in each one of our situations;
Come to live among us, live with us and in us;
Come to fill the distances that divide and separate us;
Come to reconcile us with You and with one another. Amen

Saint John Baptist de La Salle…pray for us.

Live Jesus in our hearts…forever!

In today’s news…

One of the most popular traditions of the Christmas season happens at DeLaSalle this week – and you are invited! Students in the Bel Canto and A Cappella Choirs, Chamber Orchestra, Concert Band, and Symphonic Band present their Christmas Concert Tonight, at 7:00pm in the Florance Center. DeLaSalle will again broadcast a livestream of the event. And DeLaSalle parents will serve refreshments to those waiting in line before doors to the Florance Center open at 6:30pm. Click here to access the livestream, as well as important information about parking and a free shuttle offered the evening of the concert.

We will gather tomorrow immediately following first period for our annual Christmas Liturgy and program in the Florance Center.  Please move quickly and quietly with your first period class. Students that are participating as readers in the liturgy should arrive by 8:00 a.m. to the Florance Center for practice and check in. Band and orchestra students should be dismissed at 8:50 to prepare for prayer.

National Honor Society members will be providing tutoring from now until Tuesday, December 19. Tutors will be available to help Tuesday/Thursday after school for the following subjects in the rooms indicated: English (A211), Geometry (A106), Theology (B211), and Biology (B309). There will also be tutors available for most subjects before school (starting at 8:05) in the LTC and the Florance Center. Check in with the teachers who supervise those locations to ask if a tutor is available.

Now that winter is upon us students should review several winter-related uniform expectations:

  1. For warmth students should wear a uniform sweater or sweatshirt.
  2. Students may not wear a long-sleeved shirt under a short-sleeved uniform shirt.
  3. Coats and jackets, gloves, scarves, and any other outdoor attire is not permitted during the school day. This applies to DeLaSalle spirit and team apparel unless otherwise directed by staff. Items must be kept in the student’s locker.
  4. Pants, shirts, shorts and skirts should not be rolled at the cuff, sleeve or waist. Skirts should reach the top of the knee – no more than 2” above the knee.
  5. Shoes, including laces, and socks must be predominately black, brown, white, gray, or a mix of these colors. Additionally, students should be aware of food and drink expectations:
  6. Unless special permission is granted, food and drink may not be brought into classrooms; however, individual teachers may permit water in clear bottles in the classroom.

As the end of the semester approaches please take time to check the Lost and Found in the Dean’s Office B-209 for your missing personal items. All unclaimed items will be donated at the end of the semester.

Meet 3 is Monday, 12/18. We will be here at De. Because some schools will already be on break, we will not all gather together; this means we can overlap events and complete the meet by about 4:10. Practices will be Tue-Fri this week after school. The League has sent some some resources, so be sure to come by.
