Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.

Thank you, Father, for having created us and given us to each other in the human family. Thank you for being with us in all our joys and sorrows, for your comfort in our sadness, your companionship in our loneliness. Thank you for yesterday, today, tomorrow and for the whole of our lives. Thank you for friends, for health and for grace. May we live this and every day conscious and grateful for all that has been given to us. Amen

Saint John Baptist de La Salle…pray for us.

Live Jesus in our hearts…forever!

In today’s news…

Around Christmas Time, for the past 25 years, DeLaSalle High School has “adopted” several families through Sponsor a Family Minnesota and the Aliveness Project. This year we will be adding gifts for homeless youth through Sharing and Caring Hands and Avenues for Homeless Youth. Our “adoptees” have benefited greatly from our generous spirit. Last year the students and staff brought in over $4,000 and we hope to beat that number this year. Several teachers have graciously agreed to be the money collection point for each grade level. Donate money in 9th and 10th grade Theology Classes, 11th and 12th grade English Classes. Money collection is daily and began on Wednesday, November 8 and runs through Friday, December 1. Thank you in advance for your generosities.

Anyone who would like to go Christmas Shopping for our adoptive families, please sign up here. You must be logged into your google apps account. We will shop after school on Friday, December 1 from 3:15-5:30 p.m. Christian Service hours WILL NOT be awarded for this event.

We will gather as a community between first and second period on Tuesday, November 21 for our Thanksgiving Prayer Service. Come prepared to pray in Thanksgiving for all of the gifts God has bestowed on us.

Then, if you are interested in auditioning for Speech, there is an opportunity to do so Today at 3:15pm in the same spot.

The DLS film Club is planning on making a Christmas Video. We are looking for experienced athletes who would be interested in being the subject for our video. We are looking for snowboarders, skiers, hockey players, and figure skaters. Anyone interested, please stop by Today after school for a quick meeting In the Theis lab, or tell Mr. Blakey that you are interested during school.

DeLaSalle Theatre presents this original production, set in 1937, about Chicago’s lowest rated radio station, which is in trouble. The owners are selling and if they can’t find a buyer, they’re all out of work. All they need is one exclusive news story and they’ll be back on top. But when no story can be found, will they resort to inventing a story? Tickets are $15 for reserved seats; $10 for general admission; $8 for students and seniors; and free for De students with a current ID. The show runs November 17 & 18, at 7:30pm in the Florance Center.

All are invited to join De Parents in Prayer, which holds its next prayer meeting on Monday, from 8:30-9:30am in the Florance Center. This group of parents and family members gather together once a month to pray over the requests and praises of the DeLaSalle community. This is a very welcoming experience where blessings are not only given, but also received. We hope to see you there. Contact Jackie Schluter Johnson, ogoj@comcast.net with questions.
