All college visits take place in the Guidance office B102, unless otherwise noted. In order to meet with a college rep, you must register for the visit through your Naviance account and notify your teacher at least one day before the visit. You may show your teacher your iPad with the registration on Naviance as your pass. Remember, you are responsible for any work you miss during your visit with the college rep.  The Guidance office will give students passes back to class if the visit does not take the whole period.

In today’s news…

On Wednesday, we will recognize many students for their academic accomplishments at our Academic Pepfest after 8th hour. The Pepfest is a precursor to the celebration that will take place Wednesday evening at the annual Academic Awards reception and National Honor Society induction. DeLaSalle will induct 95 students into the National Honor Society. At the same time, students will receive an academic pin if they earned a place on the Honor Roll during both semesters of the 2016-17 school year, and an academic letter if they have earned a place on the Honor Roll for four semesters.

DeLaSalle staff will gather for professional development on Thursday, November 9. Because of the professional development, classes on Thursday will start two hours later than normal, at 10:30am instead of 8:30am. Morning transportation routes will also run two hours later than normal.

Around Christmas, for the past 25 years, DeLaSalle has spiritually adopted several families through Sponsor a Family Minnesota in addition to helping teenagers served by Sharing & Caring Hands and Avenues for Homeless Teens. These recipients have benefited greatly from our generous spirit; last year, students and staff brought in $4,000. Donations are accepted in 9th and 10th grade Theology classes or 11th and 12th grade English classes. Money collection begins November 8, is daily, and runs through December 1. Students will gather after school on December 1 to purchase gifts for the families.

Please join us Thursday morning at 7:50am in the Brothers Chapel, for a short prayer service. There will be a LaSallian themed prayer every Thursday morning at 7:50am in the Brothers Chapel, please feel free to join us!

The Robotics Team will be meeting every Wednesday in room B311. If you would like to be on the Robotics Team this year, you can come by and join any meeting.

Art Club meets every Wednesday in Room B107 from 3:15-5:00pm. All are welcome. Please contact Ms. Swords with questions.

Please join us whether you are a beginning chess player or practically a pro! Drop in any time between 3:00-4:30 on Thursdays in room A208. See Ms. Kocourek if you have any questions.

DeLaSalle Theatre presents this original production, set in 1937, about Chicago’s lowest rated radio station, which is in trouble. The owners are selling and if they can’t find a buyer, they’re all out of work. All they need is one exclusive news story and they’ll be back on top. But when no story can be found, will they resort to inventing a story? Tickets are $15 for reserved seats; $10 for general admission; $8 for students and seniors; and free for De students with a current ID. The show runs November 10, 11, 17, & 18, at 7:30pm in the Florance Center.
