Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.

Father of love, hear my prayer.
Help me to know Your Will
and to do it with courage and faith.
Accept my offering of myself,
all my thoughts, words, deeds, and sufferings.
May my life be spent giving You glory.
Give me the strength to follow Your call,
so that Your Truth may live in my heart
and bring peace to me and to those I meet,
for I believe in Your Love.

Saint John Baptist de La Salle…pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts…forever!

IT’S OFFICIAL: We have Respect Life Month in October of each year. “The Church,” Pope Benedict said, “is called to proclaim the gift of life, to serve life, and to promote a culture of life.” So we remember all forms and all ages of life that God has given us.

WHY IS RESPECT LIFE MONTH IMPORTANT? It is a time to move away from the ways people disrespect life through war, poverty, abuse of the elderly, neglect of children, and abortion. At DeLaSalle, we focus on daily supplies for babies born to poor families. Every donation you bring in to Lasallian Ministry, whether big or small, will go to the Northside Total Life Care Center.

RESPECT LIFE MONTH: FOR THE BABIES! Imagine yourself babysitting a teething infant. The little one has lost her pacifier and really needs it to soothe the teething pain. What can you do? Donate a pacifier or two to our Drive for the Little Ones. Bring items to the Atrium all month.

Since Kayaking the Mississippi has been cancelled due to river conditions, join your classmates in another fun activity after all school testing. We will have pizza lunch and then go in LL Gray Gym to play Kin-Ball 4 square. Time 12:30-2:00. If interested, let either Miss Barry or Mr. Sczepanski know.

There will be no NAHS after school today as well as next week Wednesday, Oct. 18th. We will meet again on Wednesday, Oct. 25th.

Art Club will not meet today and next week Wednesday, Oct. 18th. We will meet again on Wednesday, Oct. 25th.

TableTop Games Club will meet this Thursday at 3:15 in B307. We will play Tsuro of the Seas- can your ship survive your fellow players’? How about the DRAGONS? See Mr. Newman with questions. New gamers always welcome.

The Robotics Team will have their first interest meeting of the year this Friday after school in room B311. We will be discussing meeting times, future events of the year, and the competition during next semester. If you are interested in joining the Robotics Team, please plan to visit or talk to Mr. Banas separately.

Jesuit colleges and universities from the United States will bring their Jesuit Excellence Tour (JET) to DeLaSalle on Friday, October 13, from 9:00-11:00am in D104. Twelve of the 28 Jesuit schools will be represented at DeLaSalle. Interested students should sign up to attend through their Naviance account and also complete an Anticipated Absence form.
