In today’s news…

Homecoming is a chance for us to celebrate our tradition and history at DeLaSalle and acknowledge the thousands of alumni who have come before us.

  • Today’s Out of Uniform: Islander Day
Show off that Islander pride! Students may wear any DeLaSalle apparel, black and gold/yellow, or Hawaiian shirts and shorts. You may also want to wear your brand-new Homecoming T-shirt that you can buy for $10 during lunches September 13-15.

  • Homecoming Pepfest: After 8th period, Main Gym
The Spirit Stick is up for grabs…so Islanders should show up with their school spirit! This Pepfest typically features an alumni who will reflect on how the DeLaSalle experience shaped his or her life.

  • Homecoming Activity: Coronation & Bonfire
    • Coronation: 6:30pm, Florance Center
Come out and see the crowning of the DeLaSalle Homecoming Queen and her King. It will be a glamorous affair (Black tie optional)
    • Bonfire: after Coronation (about 7:30pm), Brothers’ Plaza
The time honored tradition of hanging out by the roaring fire in Brother’s Plaza continues… stop down for some friendly conversation!

The DeLaSalle Cafe will continue the Meatless Monday and Minnesota Thursday initiatives this school year.

  • Meatless Mondays, on the first and third Mondays of each month, help raise awareness about the agricultural, ecological, and political impact caused by raising meat for human consumption. The Cafe will serve popular, nutritious, and delicious meatless meal options, such as grilled cheese and tomato soup, black bean burgers, cheese and veggie pizza, baked potato bar, waffles, and many other tasty entrees.

  • The Cafe will again partner this year with metro area farmers as part of a Farm-to-School initiative in which the farmers will provide us with their locally grown produce. Through this partnership, the Cafe will feature a harvest of the month menu item as well as a Minnesota Thursday menu, in which the main entree will consist of food produced right here in our state.
