Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.

Holy Spirit of light and love, you are the substantial love of the Father and the Son; hear my prayer. Grant me a strong and living faith which makes me accept all revealed truths and shape my conduct in accord with them. Infuse into me a love of goodwill, and act according to God’s least desires. Make me love not only my friends but my enemies as well, in imitation of Jesus Christ who through you offered himself on the Cross for all people. Holy Spirit, animate, inspire, and guide me, and help me to be always a true follower of you. Amen.

Saint John Baptist de La Salle…pray for us. Live Jesus in our hearts…forever!

In today’s news…

Today, we will be joining together as a community for our first all school Mass of the Holy Spirit immediately following 1st period. This Mass is traditionally celebrated as a way to commence a new year together and ask for the guidance of the Holy Spirit in our academics, co-curricular activities, and daily life. Fr. Dale Korogi, pastor at Ascension Parish in North Minneapolis, will be our celebrant. Students are asked to leave all personal items, including iPads, secured in their first hour classroom and move to the Florance Center to be seated with your class in a designated location. Please move quickly and quietly and move all the way into the row. No food, drink or gum is allowed during all school assemblies.

The GREEN Team is seeking environmental superstars (or just average Janes and Joes like the rest of us) to help make the world a more sustainable and vibrant place to live. If you like working with others to eliminate hunger, protect and promote pollinators, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, address environmental racism, and/or advocate for clean energy policies then look no further!

Our first meeting will be Tuesday, August 29th at 3:10PM in room B311 (and, if you miss that meeting, feel free to join us on any other Tuesday afternoon right after school in Mr. Banas’ room).

If you’re still not sure after all of that – we’re also a great option for those who enjoy occasional afternoon snacks, who are interested in field trips to cool places like aquaponics labs and bee labs, and/or who have great ideas on projects to make our school an even more fantastic place to be – now and in the future.  Bring your ideas and energy to GREEN Team!

Get prepared with this presentation Monday at 6:30pm in D104 for students and parents/guardians on the many options for paying for college. Take away tools for navigating the new FAFSA; applying to colleges, researching scholarships, grants and loan options; completing college applications; writing essays.

Just a reminder that the Campus “Lasallian” Ministry office is located in the lower level of
