Important Reminders

  • Breakfast will be served until 8:30am. There will be no lunch service.
  • Buses will run in the morning and will depart at 12:25pm on Wednesday, at 12:15pm on Thursday, and at 11:45am on Friday. The school campus will be closed to students on Friday starting at 12:00pm.
  • Students who have lunch or study hall periods 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 8 do not need to attend those periods.
  • If students are here during their lunch hour, they should report to the Florance Center.
  • If students are here for a study hall periods 2 or 7, they should report to their regular study hall room.
  • If students are here for a study hall periods 1, 3, or 8, they should report to the Florance Center.
  • All students will return iPads on Friday.

Students will have 10 minutes between the 2nd and 4th period finals today 10:50-11:00) to clean out their lockers for the year. Garbage and recycling bins are available in the hallways to properly dispose of waste. Students should take and keep the lock with them this summer after cleaning out their locker and checking out with a teacher or staff member in the hallway.

All students are required to go through the end of the year iPad checkout on Friday, May 26 between 11:00am and 12:30pm in the Main Gym (9th grade), LL Gray Gym (10th grade), or Schulze Learning Lab (11th grade). Students may turn in their iPad early to the Tech Office before their last final if they no longer need it for testing. Students must allow at least 15 minutes for the iPad return process.

All students must turn in their school issued iPad with the school issued iPad case. The iPad Return Checklist – found in the Islanders course in Canvas – must be completed, signed by a parent/guardian, and turned in with the iPad on May 26. Students should turn off their passcode and sign out of their iCloud and iTunes accounts before going to their assigned area. It is important to note that you will be charged the deductible/repair cost for broken devices as well as replacement cost for any missing items. Families who chose the Deposit Protection Plan will be charged for all damages to the iPad and accessories not covered under warranty. If you are not returning to DeLaSalle for the 2017-2018 school year, you must turn in the Apple charging/sync cable and power adapter provided when you received your iPad.

The campus will be closed to students after 12:00pm on Friday. Afternoon transportation routes will leave at 11:30am that day, following the iPad return. Thank you and have a great summer!

Congratulations to the award-winning DeLaSalle Theatre program, whose March production of “Urinetown” has earned 20 awards from the Hennepin Theatre Trust Spotlight Education Program, eleven awards for the entire production and nine for individual performance.  While the final list of Spotlight awards list will not be released until early-June, we know that no high school received as many as 20 awards in 2015 or 2016, so these honors are significant. In addition to all the other accolades of the spring, congratulations are in store for Jake Nelson `17, who has been chosen as one of 24 “Triple Threat Award” finalists from high schools across the state.

A program of the Hennepin Theatre Trust, “Triple Threat” finalists are recognized for their theatre accomplishments and community leadership while participating in the Trust’s Spotlight Education program.  From the 12 male and 12 female finalists, four winners will be announced at the 12th annual Spotlight Showcase, June 12-13 at the historic State Theatre, 805 Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis. Metro Transit is offering a Student Summer Pass for $25 that provides unlimited rides on buses or light rail for students this summer. Passes are available for purchase and are valid June 1-September 5 from 5:00am-10:00pm. It’s perfect for summer jobs, sports leagues and all the other fun that summer brings. Click here for more about how to buy a pass. All you need to purchase a pass is the school name (DeLaSalle) and the student ID.

Summer time is a great opportunity to get involved in Christian Service.  Many organizations have been contacting us to set up summer assistance.  Please see Mr. Hallman for ideas of places you can serve.  If you complete an activity during the summer you may wait until the fall to turn in your completed validation forms.  All validation forms are available here.

St. Mary’s University, Minnesota is hosting the 2017 Lasallian Youth Gathering during the week of June 25-29. This is a week-long immersion experience centered on the Lasallian components of Faith, Service and Community. Students are encouraged to use their talents and are challenged to make an impact in their local communities. The time in Winona will feature several service opportunities; times to gather in prayer and reflection; and social outings. Students receive 30 Christian Service Hours upon completion of this week. Any current 9th, 10th or 11th grade student at DeLaSalle is invited to participate.

The June driver’s education class is full. Thank you to those who have registered.

The next driver’s ed class will be taught in late July and early August. The class is scheduled July 31-August 4 and Aug. 7-11, from 9:00am-12:20pm. There is a mandatory parent meeting on July 31 from 1:00-2:30pm. Click here for an application. Please note, the classroom only option is no longer offered.
