In today’s news…

The Advanced Placement (AP) English Language and Composition exam is today at 8:30am. The final AP exam this week is European History on Friday at 12:00pm in the Rothweiler Room.

Come celebrate the last day of Art Club: The last Art Club of the school year will take place after school in B110. All current art club members are welcome!

Class rep elections will be held May 17.

Senior finals are scheduled tomorrow and Friday. Exams are scheduled in periods 1-4 on Thursday and periods 5-8 on Friday. Students will attend their regular classes periods 5-8 tomorrow and will have the opportunity to clean out their lockers during the last 10 minutes of 7th period. Seniors may bring their items in their backpack to 8th period on Thursday. Seniors are excused from periods 1-4 on Friday.

All seniors are required to go through the end of the year iPad checkout process in the Schulze Learning Lab (D104) on Friday between 3:00-4:30pm. The iPad Return Checklist must be completed, signed by a parent/guardian, and turned in with the iPad. The Checklist is in the Islanders Canvas course under Technology. Students may turn in their iPad to the Thies Creative Lab (D207West) during lunch on May 12 if they no longer need it for testing during periods after lunch. Students must allow at least 15 minutes for the iPad return process. Students must remember to logout of their iCloud and iTunes accounts, turn off pass codes, and return the device along with their school issued power cord, adapter and case.

Seniors – on Wednesday, May 17, the evening before graduation, we will gather for our Baccalaureate Mass, Senior Awards and Reception at 6:30pm in the Main Gym.  Seniors are asked to arrive by 6:15 and report to the LL Gray Gym to line up for the processional.

Seniors, please check your Student Islander Apps email for a form where you can share helpful information with the Alumni Relations office. Thank you for your attention and for responding.

Did you know the yearbooks are in and they look great? There are only 50 yearbooks left to order. We will be accepting on campus orders until we are sold out. Online orders will close on Wednesday, May 10th. Order soon so you will be able to pick it up at the Farewell Bonfire on Friday.

Come for a night of fun with your classmates and friends! The End of Year Bonfire is Friday from 7:00-10:00pm and includes music, games, and refreshments. Join us on Brothers’ Plaza. Yearbooks will be also be distributed for those who bought one.

Students, are you looking for summer work? Companies and organizations sometimes ask us to post their job opportunities. You can find this in the Islander Canvas course under Student Life.

There is a Twin Cities Marathon One-Mile Race volunteering opportunity tomorrow from 4:30-6:30pm near the Mill City Ruins.  We will hand out T-shirts and handle registration for the event. Sign up with Mr. Pearson.

Special Olympics is looking for high school students to help them out with their Track & Field event on Saturday at Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis.  Get some of your service hours done while doing good!  Click here to get more information and sign up.

Students are invited to an evening information program with the admission representatives of Dartmouth College, Northwestern University, Princeton University, University of California-Berkeley, and Vanderbilt University on Sunday, May 21 at 7:00pm at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel (7800 Normandale Boulevard). The June driver’s education class is full. Thank you to those who have registered.

The next driver’s ed class will be taught in late July and early August. The class is scheduled July 31-August 4 and Aug. 7-11, from 9:00am-12:20pm. There is a mandatory parent meeting on July 31 from 1:00-2:30pm. Click here for an application. Please note, the classroom only option is no longer offered. Applicants must now sign up for both classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction, which costs $399.
