Friday, April 28: Quality Education
In honor of the legacy of the Christian Brothers, the faculty and staff have been invited to wear a special T-shirt. The shirt is black with a white collar or “rebat”. The rebat is the collar worn by the brothers in their traditional robes. The back reads, “Together and By Association”
Islanders are invited to Founder’s Fest after school with activities on and near the Athletic Field. Seniors will face the staff in a kickball game at 3:30pm. You can also play lawn games and purchase food from the Alimama’s Mediterranean Grill and K-Town Street Food trucks.
Saturday, April 29: FOUNDER’S DAY 5k
There’s still time for you to sign up to participate. Click here for more information. Students can even try to Beat the Principal by running faster than Mr. Benson.
Students are encouraged to bring their bike to school that day and to lock it to a bike rack outside the building. All participants will be required to wear a helmet in order to ride. We will meet in A206 from 3:15-3:30pm and will ride from 3:30-4:30pm.
Class Representative nomination forms are now available in the Main Office and in B302. They are due on Monday, May 8. (You must also attend a mandatory meeting if you plan to run for Student Council on either Tuesday, May 2 at 7:45am or Wednesday, May 3 at 3:15pm in B302)
The next driver’s ed class will be taught in late July and early August. The class is scheduled July 31-August 4 and Aug. 7-11, from 9:00am-12:20pm. There is a mandatory parent meeting on July 31 from 1:00-2:30pm. Click here for an application. Please note, the classroom only option is no longer offered. Applicants must now sign up for both classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction, which costs $399.
Parents interested in volunteering may sign up here. Volunteer opportunities include transportation/bus chaperones, volunteers with medical experience for the First Aid station, and other party chaperones. Please contact Anne Geddes (mother of Cassidy) or Mary Kane (mother of Emma) with questions.
