Be a leader on Student Council!  Executive Board nomination forms are now available (in the Main Office and B302).  The Student Council Executive Board consists of 5 positions – Student Council president and vice president (who run together), secretary, treasurer, and public relations officer.

The President must be a senior in the fall of 2017; the other positions can be juniors or seniors in the fall of 2017. You do not need to be on Student Council to run for an executive board position.  If you are elected, you will automatically be on Student Council and do not have to run in the class representative elections.

Nomination forms are due to Mr. Sczepanski on Wednesday, April 26.  Please see Mr. Sczepanski, Mr. Hank or Mr. Zavitz with any questions.

All students are welcome to come to the final Lasallian Ministry meeting of the school year on Thursday from 7:30-8:20am in D117. This will be a celebration of the year and a farewell to our seniors.  Food and games provided.

The DeLaSalle Cycling Club will ride after school on Thursday (so you can enjoy the Founder’s Fest activities after school Friday). We will ride along a bike boulevard on 5th Street SE and will explore the Dinkytown neighborhood. If you picked up a waiver in the past, please get it signed by your parent or guardian and bring it back this week.

Students are encouraged to bring their bike to school that day and to lock it to a bike rack outside the building. All participants will be required to wear a helmet in order to ride. We will meet in A206 from 3:15-3:30pm and will ride from 3:30-4:30pm.

No matter your political background and interests there’s a place for you at DeLaSalle’s Political Affairs Club! This is a new club at DE that is starting this spring. The organizational meeting is Thursday, May 4 at 3:15pm in D207. There will be food, open discussion, and important debates – come join us to help form this new activity!

The next driver’s education class at DeLaSalle will be taught in June by Ray Kroll ’60. The classes are from 9:00am-12:20pm June 5-9 and 12-16 – and there are now less than 10 spaces remaining! There is a mandatory parent meeting June 5 at 1:00pm. Click here for a registration form. You may return it to the Administration Office. Applications are due by May 1, though spots may be filled sooner, so don’t delay! Classroom instruction costs $110 and behind-the-wheel instruction costs $330; students who register for both the class and behind-the-wheel instruction will pay $399.

Ms. Stipkovits from the Guidance Office will work with 9th graders over the next few weeks to help students get registered with Naviance and complete a career activity. Naviance is a college preparation program that helps students connect academic achievement to post-secondary goals and assists with college and career planning.
