The DeLaSalle community will celebrate Founder’s Week April 24-29. This week full of events affirm our Lasallian heritage and connection with the Brothers of the Christian Schools: Each day will emphasize one of the five Lasallian core principles:

Faith in the Presence of God (Monday, April 24)
All are welcome to come to the “Upper Room” school Chapel on the second floor of Christian Brothers Hall for morning prayer at 7:45am. Special prayers will also be read at the start of each class period.

Respect for All Persons (Tuesday, April 25)
Students and families are encouraged to donate during lunches all week toward our school collection for South Sudan. There will be a bin for each grade level. The class with the largest donation will win a pizza party before the end of the school year.

Inclusive Community (Wednesday, April 26)
Our community will gather for the annual Founder’s Day Mass at 9:00am in the Florance Center, followed by an ice cream social. At Mass, we will honor our Alumni Scholarship and Giving Tree recipients, as well as staff recipients of the Distinguished Lasallian Educator Award and the Liemandt Excellence in Teaching Award.

Concern for the Poor and Social Justice (Thursday, April 27)
Students are invited to sign up to participate in a food packing event at Feed My Starving Children.

Quality Education (Friday, April 28)
Faculty and staff will wear a special T-shirt in honor of the legacy of the Christian Brothers. Approved by the Midwest District of Christian Brothers, the black short- or long-sleeve shirt reads “Together and By Association” on the back and features the “rabat” or white neck collar worn by the Brothers on their traditional robe on the front.

Students are invited to the carnival-themed Founder’s Fest, starting at 3:30pm, complete with food trucks, Senior vs. Staff kickball game, and fun games!
